Factory Engraved Stevens Ideal No. 49 Schuetzen Rifle with Scope, Hartmann NRA Case, Extra Matching .22 LR Barrel and Accessories - Serial
no. 7452, 32-40 cal., 28 inch part octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. This attractive
factory engraved Stevens No. 49 was manufactured circa 1896-1916. Globe front sight, the two-line J. Stevens A & T Co. address on top of the barrel,
“32.40” on the upper left flat of the barrel, matching serial number on the bottom of the barrel and the lower tang, matching partial serial number on the rear surface of the checkered forearm, “49 0” on the front surface of the action, scroll engraved action, drilled and tapped for a tang peep sight, and a checkered high
comb pistol grip buttstock with checkering, cheekpiece and a casehardened Swiss buttplate. “S13I/T26U” carved in the left rear of the forearm. Includes a Stevens scope marked with number “470” on the tube, National Rifle Association Hartmann rifle case with a plaque numbered “REGISTER NO. 99”, an extra matching serial
numbered .22 LR barrel with checkered walnut forearm, .32-40 shell casings, bullet mold, lead cast bullets, priming tool, shell forming tool, and an extra lever. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% original blue finish on the barrel with some very light finish loss around the muzzle and a few light scratches. 60% plus original case
colors remain with areas of scattered brown freckling on the balance. Wood is fine with some Mechanically excellent. Scope is fine with 80% plus original blue finish on the tube and serviceable slightly hazy optics. Extra barrel is fine with 60% original blue finish, scattered light surface oxidation overall. Case is very good.

This attractive factory engraved Stevens No. 49 was manufactured circa 1896-1916. Flip-up Beach front sight, the two-line J. Stevens A & T Co. address on top of the barrel, “32.40” on the upper left flat of the barrel, matching serial number on the bottom of the barrel and the lower tang, matching partial
serial number on the rear surface of the checkered forearm, “49 0” on the front surface of the action, scroll engraved action, tang peep sight, double set triggers, and a checkered high comb pistol grip buttstock with checkering, cheekpiece and a casehardened Swiss buttplate.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 70% original blue finish with areas thinning to a smooth brown patina, and 60% plus original case colors with scattered brown surface freckling on the lever and buttplate. Crisp engraving. Wood is also very fine as revarnished with crisp checkering, some filler visible at the rear of the forearm and around the tangs, a small chip and crack behind the receiver tang. Mechanically excellent.

LOT 1051 Engraved Stevens-Pope “Ideal” Model 51 Schuetzen Single Shot Rifle - Serial no. 8139, 32 cal., 31 inch part octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. The Stevens Model 51 was manufactured c. 1896-1916 and is essentially a deluxe version of the “Walnut Hill” No. 50. The rifle is fitted with a globe front
sight and a mid-range Vernier tang peep sight. There is an empty dovetail for a rear sight on the barrel and two scope bases. The barrel has the two-line Stevens-Pope Chicopee Falls marking on the upper left flat, and the bottom has “1722”. The factory style deep relief scroll
engraved receiver is fitted with double set triggers and a ball and spur lever. The two screw forearm and straight grip stock are checkered. The buttstock has a left handed cheekpiece and heavy Swiss buttplate. Includes a military style metal ammunition can containing some .32-40 casings, bullets, and loading tools.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 95% plus of the blue finish on the upgraded, refinished/remarked barrel and mostly silvered out case colors remaining on the receiver, lever and scope bases. The buttplate retains 98% of the silver finish that has
an attractively aged patina. The refinished/recheckered wood is very fine with a few scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Gerard F. “Jerry” de Vaudreuil Collection. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750

Unidentified Engraved “Tip-Up” Single Shot Pocket Rifle with Detachable Shoulder Stock - NSN, 22 RF cal., 18 inch octagon bbl., blue/nickel finish, metal stock, rosewood grips. This rifle very is similar to the various Steven’s “Pocket Rifles,” particularly the
Hunter’s Pet Pocket Rifle No. 34. However, there are no Stevens markings, and the screws enter from the
right side rather than the left. The only markings found are the Lyman’s patent on the beaded front sight and “-PAT. JAN. 29. 1901-” on the rear
sight which came off of a Winchester .22, perhaps the whole barrel did. The firing pin is secured by a bushing in the frame. The spur trigger is knurled and enclosed in a trigger guard with a scroll front. The nickel plated frame, trigger guard, and hammer have English style scroll engraving.
The rosewood grips have antique ivory diamond inlays. The detachable shoulder stock has an “S” scroll design. This may be a prototype or special custom build.

CONDITION: Fine with 85% plus blue and refinished nickel plated finish, solder visible on the left side of frame around the barrel screw, distinct engraving, and mild overall wear. The grips are also fine and have some minor edge wear and handling and storage marks. Mechanically fine.
