The case colors on the contact points on
the top of the frame, recoil shield, loading
gate and hammer spur show handling
wear with some silvering and scattered
spots of age discoloration. The balance of the
frame has strong case colors. Most of the fire
blue finish is present on the trigger. The grip is
very fine with most of the oil finish, the date and Ordnance inspection marks are extremely sharp. Mechanically excellent. The holster is good overall. The
finish on the holster body and flap has age cracking but
the embossed “US” on the holster body is strong, and the stitching on the seams is tight. This is a very good example of a late production, U.S. contract, Colt Single Action Cavalry Model revolver identified as belonging to a Regular Army Colonel.
