Revolver with Factory
Letter - Serial no. 79068, 44-40 cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1883, this revolver
has been totally professionally restored. The accompanying factory letter confirms the
serial number, caliber, blue finish with the barrel length and stocks “Not Listed” (although it further states, “However, this is an indication of a 7 1/2 inch barrel length as this was considered standard issue for that time period.”) and that it was shipped as 1 of 50 to Hartley & Graham, New York, N.Y. on January
8, 1883. The top of the barrel is marked with the one-line address, the left side is marked “COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER .” in a matte gray panel, the bottom is marked with a small “44” and the left side of the frame is marked with the three-line, three-date marking. The complete matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard and back strap and the partial serial number “9068” is marked on the barrel and cylinder. Blade front and frame notch rear sights, “bull’s eye” ejector rod head, blue, barrel, cylinder and grip frame, casehardened frame and hammer and fire blue screws. Fitted with smooth varnished one piece walnut grips. CONDITION: Very good as completely restored with almost all of the blue finish remaining
with thinning on the trigger guard. There is some minor edge wear and a few minor dings
on the cylinder. The frame retains most of the bright case colors with some graying out and discoloration. The grips retain 98% varnish with a couple of minor dings and dents and a very small chip on the right toe. The markings are clear and crisp. Mechanically fine.

Colt First Generation Single Action Army
Revolver - Serial no. 355497, 38 Special cal., 4 3/4
inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard rubber grips.
Manufactured in 1937. The barrel has the two-line Hartford
address and “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38 SPECIAL.” The
frame has the two-line patent dates followed by a Rampant
Colt. The trigger guard has the Colt factory triangle proof and number “4.” Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, back strap, and both grip panels. The rear face of the cylinder carries the last two digits “97” of the serial number.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish and 90% plus original case colors with small spots of corrosion on the topstrap, a light cylinder drag line, and some very scattered handling marks. The grips are excellent, with a few minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Engraved Colt First Generation Single Action Army
Revolver - Serial no. 210072, 38 Special cal., 4 3/4 inch round
bbl., blue/casehardened finish, smooth grips. Manufactured in
1901 and subsequently custom engraved with profuse coverage
American style floral scroll engraving on a punch dot background
along with cross hatching patterns and zig zag line motifs. A single
gold band is inlaid on the rear of the cylinder. Even the hammer is engraved. The
intricate engraving is unsigned. The later production replacement barrel has the
one-line Hartford address and “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38 SPECIAL.” The frame
has the two-line patent dates followed by an encircled Rampant Colt. Matching serial
numbers appear on the frame, trigger guard, and back strap.
CONDITION: Very fine a professionally custom embellished and refinished, retaining 95%
blue finish with a few areas of gray and 97% of the case colors. The grip is also very fine showing a few typical age lines and attractive color and grain. Mechanically fine.

Engraved Colt First Generation Single Action
Army Revolver - Serial no. 325333, 45 cal., 8 inch
round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, smooth grips.
Manufactured in 1913 and subsequently custom engraved with
50% plus coverage American style floral scroll engraving that
appears to be unsigned. The custom non-factory extra length
barrel address is absent although the two-line patent dates and
Rampant Colt remain on the left of the frame, as well as the matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and back strap. The loading gate is numbered “629”. It has been fitted with a taller than standard, beaded blade front target sight and pair of period smooth grips but otherwise has standard features.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 90% plus of the refinished blue and casehardened finishes with the
 balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina and a few very small patches of light surface pitting on the cylinder. The attractive grips are also fine showing an attractively aged mellow tone with some hairline age cracks on the butt. Mechanically excellent.
