Armoury Co. Kerr Patent Five-Shot
Single Action Percussion Revolver - Serial
no. 11,305, 54 bore cal., 5 3/4 inch octagon bbl.,
blue/casehardened finish, checkered walnut grips.
With blued octagonal barrel with conical brass
front sight and stamped “L.A.C.” on the upper left
flat, the barrel extending to the topstrap which in turn
extends to the wrist of the grip, and with a casehardened rammer beneath. Blued cylinder and frame, the latter signed “KERR’S PATENT 11,305” on the right side. Casehardened back action lock stamped “LONDON ARMOURY”. Checkered walnut grip, blued trigger guard and butt cap with lanyard loop. London proof marks.
In fitted oak case lined in green baize with some accessories including oiler, brass
mounted lacquered copper Dixon & Sons powder flask, a japanned tin for Eley Bros. bullets, another japanned tin for Eley Bros. percussion caps, a Kerr-type combination tool (possibly a very well made reproduction) and a 54 bore double cavity brass bullet mold.
CONDITION: Excellent. This revolver is in remarkable condition, verging on unfired, and retains 95% bright original high polished blue and casehardened finish with age related flaking to the trigger guard and butt cap. The grip has well-defined checkering and very little signs of any wear. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine. The lid lining has been replaced, and the wear patterns to the remaining lining appear older suggesting it is possibly the original material. The accessories are all very fine. One will look a long time to
acquire a finer example! Estimate: 9,000 - 14,000

Fine Cased Reilly Retailed 38 Bore Large Frame
Beaumont-Adams Patent Five-Shot
Double Action Percussion Revolver - Serial no. 16,349.R., 38 Bore cal., 7 1/4 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, checkered walnut grips. Beaumont-Adams revolvers are usually encountered in 54 bore, 80 bore or 120 bore gauges. Larger gauge, larger frame examples of this double action patent are rare. The present example was retailed by Reilly, the
famous Oxford Street based London gunmaker and retailer. With blued octagonal sighted barrel signed “REILLY. 315 & 502 OXFORD ST.T LONDON” on the topstrap. Blued border engraved frame marked on the right side “B.544./ADAMS’ PATENT No.16,349.R.”, blued cylinder marked “No.16,349.R.”, bright hammer, blued rammer, trigger guard and butt cap.
Checkered walnut butt. London proof marks. In original fitted oak case lined in purple velvet, the lid with printed Reilly trade label. With some accessories including correct 38 bore double cavity brass bullet mold marked “REGISTERED/28 NOV./1851/R. ADAMS” within an oval stamp and also stamped “REILLY/OXFORD ST./LONDON”, a Reilly branded percussion cap tin, a Dixon & Sons brass mounted lacquered copper powder flask, wooden rod with worm and interchangeable heads for loading and cleaning, and two scoops.
CONDITION: Fine. The barrel and frame retain 97% original deep blue finish. The cylinder retains 98% of the period refinished blue finish and has the serial number softened with pitting visible under the finish. The trigger guard has turned to a plum color. The grip has well-defined checkering. Beyond the single action mechanism being at fault, mechanically excellent. The case and accessories are also fine, with some light rubbing and staining to the lining, minor staining to the trade label, and powder flask spring incomplete.
