The barrel and magazine tube retain 90% original blue finish with light pitting, brown patina visible near the muzzle on the magazine tube. The receiver,
hammer and lever retain 90% plus original vivid case colors with a smooth brown patina on the rear portion of the lever. The wood is fine with an old wood fill repair on the upper left side of the stock, and some scattered minor dents and scratches. The markings remain crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent. Outstanding and Desirable Marlin Model 1895 Lever Action 45-70 Rifle
- Serial no. 313635, 45-70 cal., 26 inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured between 1895 and 1917 with a total production of only about 18,000. This rifle was manufactured circa 1905. These rifles were the answer to the Winchester Model 1886 lever action rifle and although they never attained the same status as the Winchester rifles, some consider them to be a better and stronger than the Winchester rifles. The top barrel flat ahead of the rear sight is marked “MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN, CT.

Exceptionally Fine Special Order Marlin Deluxe Model 1897 Lever Action Takedown Rifle - Serial no. 365871, 22 S L LR cal., 24 inch part octagon bbl., blue/ casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1906-1922 with a special order half octagon barrel, “semi-deluxe” checkering, and a 2/3 length magazine. The top barrel flat is marked with the two- line address and patent dates. The upper tang is marked “Marlin./MODEL ‘97.” and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. It is fitted with beaded blade front and elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sights, and the desirable
casehardened takedown receiver. It is mounted with a diamond pattern checkered forearm and checkered pistol grip stock with a hard rubb CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains 85% of the original blue finish with a patch of light pitting that has been cleaned to a grey patina on the left of the magazine

Manufactured from 1922-1938, the top flat of the barrel is marked with the two-line Marlin address and patent and the caliber marking is on the upper left at the breech. The upper tang is marked “Marlin/MOD. 39” and the serial number is on the lower tang. It is fitted with a beaded blade front sight and an elevation adjustable notch rear sight as well as the desirable casehardened takedown receiver. It is mounted with a smooth forearm and pistol grip stock with a hard rubber buttplate.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original blue finish and 95% plus of the vibrant original case colors with the balance having thinned

Manufactured from 1922-1938, the top flat of the barrel is marked with the two-line Marlin address and patent and the caliber marking is on the upper left at the breech. The upper tang is marked “Marlin/MOD. 39” and the early production, “no prefix”, serial number is on the lower tang. It is fitted with a beaded blade front sight and an elevation adjustable notch rear sight as well as the desirable casehardened takedown receiver. It is mounted with a diamond pattern checkered forearm and checkered pistol grip stock with a hard rubber buttplate.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 99% plus of the professionally restored blue finish and 75% plus of the original case colors with the balance having
