Joe Wanenmacher
Joseph Melching Wanenmacher, Jr. was born October 23, 1934, in Tulsa Oklahoma. Joe, a petroleum engineer, was associated with the Keplinger and Wanenmacher Petroleum Engineering Consultants, succeeded by the Wanenmacher
and Mueller Petroleum Consultants firm for many years.
Always a gun enthusiast and collector, he has been a member of the Indian Territory Gun Collectors since 1968. His hobby became his business when he created the Wanenmacher Arms Show, which he developed into the premiere and largest gun show in the world.
Running for over 65 year the Wanenmacher Arms Shows, The Big Tulsa Show, or simply Tulsa is an institution in the field of fine and historic firearms. If you have not been you must, and once you have attended you will not miss it. The show runs biannually, fall and spring, and features over 40,000 attendees and over 4,000 tables.
Joe was honored by both the City of Tulsa and by Tulsa County for the revenue to Tulsa generated by the Wanenmacher Arms Shows over the years. Joe had a remarkable eye and passion for extremely fine, high art, European weapons. It is a privilege, an honor and a tremendous responsibility to have been selected to market and sell the collection of such and industry titan.
