Vol. I & The Book of Colt Firearms both by Wilson
The hammer, cylinder, ejector rod housing, ejector rod,
cylinder pin, and trigger are plated in gold. The trigger
guard, frame, and barrel are plated in silver. Matching
full or partial serial numbers appear on the frame, trigger
guard, back strap, cylinder, and barrel. The top of the barrel
has the one-line Colt Hartford address. The left side of the
frame has the two-line, two patent date marking. “45 CAL” is
marked on the left side of the trigger guard bow. Includes
a modern oak case featuring “TIFFANY & CO./MAKERS”
embossed in gold on the interior of the lining, brass corner
protectors on the exterior, and red wine color velvet lined
interior cut specifically for this Colt Single Action Army.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 80% retailer silver and gold
finish overall. The engraving is crisp. The grip is spectacular.
Mechanically excellent. A true work of 19th century
firearms artistry, this is a unique opportunity to acquire one
of L.D. Nimschke’s most well-known engraved “Tiffany” grip
Colt Single Action Army revolvers.
