Dyson Miniature Colt Model 1851 Navy Percussion
Revolver with “Tiffany” Type Patriotic Themed Grip and
Display Case - NSN, 3 1/2 inch octagon bbl., blue/gold finish,
metal grips. Offered here is an impressive approximately 1/2 scale,
non-firing, miniature replica of the legendary Colt Single
Action Army revolver. It has been fitted with a silver
“Tiffany” type grip with patriotic designs and a detailed
eagle on the butt. The high quality deluxe engraving by
Allen Cootsmen consists of floral scroll patterns, and gold
inlaid line bordering. “Saml Colt” in fancy Gothic script
on top of the barrel. “001” on the barrel, bottom
of the frame, and cylinder. “36 CAL”
on the trigger guard. Includes a glass
display case with hardwood base and
a cleaning rod. This exact miniature
is pictured and described on p. 138
of “The Art of Miniature Firearms,
Centuries of Craftsmanship” by The
Miniature Arms Society.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retains 99% of
the bright original niter blue finish and gold inlays,
attractive bright patina on the brass and grip, only the
slightest handling evidence, and crisp engraving and grip
designs. The action mechanically functions. Display case is
fine, with one detached stand leg.

Cased Engraved Miniature Colt Model 1860 Army Percussion Revolver with Ivory Grip -
Serial no. 223, 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened/silver finish, ivory grips. Offered here is an
impressive approximately 1/2 scale miniature non-firing replica of the legendary Colt Single Action
Army revolver. The high quality deluxe engraving consists of floral scroll patterns and designs, with
a clamshell motif on top of the backstrap. One-line Colt Hartford address on top of the barrel, with
the naval battle scene on the cylinder, “COLTS/PATENT” on left of the frame, and “44 CAL” on left of
the trigger guard. Matching visible full number “223” on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, and back
strap, with “23” on the cylinder. Includes a hardwood case with fitted felt lined interior containing a
miniature powder flask, “L” shaped combination tool, dual cavity bullet mold with “COLTS/PATENT”
on the sprue cutter, Eley Bros. cap tin, lead balls, and a key.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retains 99% bright original blue finish, vivid case colors, and silver
plating, with minimal handling evidence, sharp engraving, and well-defined edges. The action
mechanically functions. Case is very fine.

finish, walnut grips. This impressive
engraved approximately 1/2 scale
miniature non-firing replica of the
Colt Model 1851 Navy revolver was
manufactured c. 1985 by Uberti
in Italy and is accompanied by a
presentation inscribed hardwood
case indicating it was made specially
for presentation to the Metropolitan
Museum of Art by Aldo Uberti. It
appears to be made as a mostly
faithful miniature copy of the full size engraved squareback trigger guard Colt
Model 1851 Navy revolver with serial number 2, which is currently housed at the Met Museum in New York (Object Number
68.157.2). The high quality deluxe engraving on the miniature revolver consists of floral scroll patterns, with a bestial head
on the hammer. Matching visible “M2” marked on the barrel, frame, wedge, cylinder, and trigger guard. The accompanying
presentation hardwood case has a brass plaque on the lid inscribed “PRESENTED TO THE/METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART/BY
ALDO UBERTI E C./OCTOBER 8th 1985/CHRISTIE’S NEW YORK”.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retains 99% of the original blue, casehardened, and silver finishes, only the slightest handling
evidence, and crisp engraving. The action mechanically functions. Case is very fine.

barrel and cylinder. “SAMPSON99” signature on right of barrel, for Master Engraver Roger Sampson. Patent
Arms Paterson, New Jersey address on top of the barrel. The cylinder has the coach wagon scene. Includes a fitted presentation
type hardwood case with a velvet lined interior containing an extra cylinder, charger powder flask, primer tool, mold, rod, key,
and combination tool.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retains 99% plus of the original blue finish and silver inlays, only the slightest handling evidence,
and crisp engraving. The action mechanically functions. Case is very fine.
