Engraved and Relief Carved Crissman Miniature Double Barrel Flintlock Kentucky Rifle - NSN, 15 inch part
octagon bbl., brown/bright/brass finish, curly maple stock. The oval inlay on the underside of the forend is inscribed “L/
Crissman/2013”. The consignor indicated this non-firing miniature was an exact copy of a rifle from master miniaturist
Fred Crissman’s collection. The browned barrels are smoothbore and have octagonal front sections, round breech
sections, and a concave brass rib with a bead front sight and notch rear sight. The bright locks are unmarked. The mounts
are brass and include a lightly engraved functional patchbox. The curly maple stock has incised and raised relief carving.
CONDITION: Excellent with slight fading of the original brown finish, bright locks, light aged patina on the brass mounts,
and crisp engraving and carving. The left lock is stuck at full-cock, but the right lock and trigger function.

NRA Award Winning Cased Miniature Matchlock Petronel Engraved by
Richard Spinale - NSN, 7 7/8 inch octagon bbl., bright/gold finish, hardwood grips. The barrel on
the left at the breech is signed “ENG./SPINALE. R.” for talented engraver Richard Spinale (1928-2014),
a World War II U.S. Navy veteran who also participated in the famous atomic bomb tests at Bikini
Atoll. The non-firing gun is constructed as an approximately 1/5 scale miniature of a 16th century
petronel and features beautiful engraving on the metal and stock inlays, gold inlays on the barrel, and a fitted
case with engraved latches, a matching engraved and inlaid powder flask, and a silver NRA award medal for
“One of the Ten Best Miniature Weapons Exhibited at the NRA Annual Meeting.”
CONDITION: Excellent overall with crisp engraving, bright gold inlays, smooth silver-gray
patina, and minor age and storage related wear. Mechanically functions. The case and
flask are also excellent with minimal storage marks.

Cased Miniature Daniel
Osterman Golden Age Relief Carved Swivel
Breech Flintlock Kentucky Rifle - NSN, 12 inch
octagon bbl., brown/casehardened/brass finish, curly maple
stock. This fantastic non-firing miniature by Daniel E. Osterman
(1951-2004) features one rifled barrel (signed “D. E. Osterman
+”) and one smoothbore barrel, each with traditional blade
and notch sights. Pulling backwards on the trigger guard
releases the barrels for rotation. The back action lock is lightly
signed “D. E./Osterman”. The brass mounts are finely engraved,
and the inside of the patchbox is marked “NO. 3 OF 10”. The curly maple stock has stunning flame figure and
raised relief carving. The rifle measures 17 1/8 inches from muzzle to heel and comes in a fitted case with an
Osterman label.
CONDITION: Excellent overall with essentially all of the original finish, distinct carving and engraving, minor
handling and storage marks, and a very slight gap at the bottom of the lock. Mechanically functions. The case
is good with mild storage wear concentrated at the edges.
