Excellent Factory Type “A” Engraved and Nickel Plated Colt Government Model
Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory Letter - Serial no. 297166-C, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., nickel finish,
hardwood grips. Manufactured in 1965, with the included factory letter confirming this pistol’s configuration,
including a 5 inch barrel in .45 caliber, nickel finish, type of grips not listed, and “Type A” factory engraving, when sent as
the only pistol of its type in a shipment to Dewey’s Gun Room at 2724 North Harlem Avenue in Elwood Park, Illinois, on November 17,
1965. Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights, the one-line Colt address roll-marked on the right side of the slide with the two-
line model and caliber designation on the left side followed with a Rampant Colt, “COLT 45 AUTO” marked on top of the chamber hood
of the barrel, the serial number on the right side of the frame, Colt factory “P” and “triangle/VP” proofs on the left side of the trigger guard
with “O” on the right side, matte nickel plating along with ventral and dorsal line of the slide and frame contrasted with high polish on the
sides, along with Colt “Type A” floral scroll engraving and bordering on the frame and slide. Fitted with a pair of dark checkered hardwood
grips and a nickel plated magazine marked “COLT/.45 AUTO” on the base.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original nickel plating with limited minor handling evidence, scattered specks of oxidation on both
sides of the slide, clear roll-marks, and crisp engraving. The grips are exceptionally fine with well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Series Woodsman Sport Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory
Letter - Serial no. 304970S, 22 LR cal., 4 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in
1977, with the included factory letter confirming this pistol’s configuration, including a 4 1/2 inch barrel in
.22 Long Rifle caliber, blue finish, type of grips not listed, and factory Class “A” standard level scroll engraving
(engraver’s name not listed), when sent as the only pistol of its type in a shipment sent to Kamloops
Distributing Co. at 408 South 8th Street in Boise, Idaho, on May 24, 1977, under Colt Factory Order #10511.
Features fixed ramped blade front and adjustable notch rear sights, the one-line Colt address roll-marked on the left
side of the barrel, the caliber designation on the left side of the slide, Rampant Colt over “WOODSMAN” on the left of the frame and
the “S” suffix serial number on the right side, “COLT ENG.” marked on the left side of the grip frame under the panel, along with Class “A”
floral scroll factory engraving on the frame, barrel, and slide. Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips and a blued magazine marked
“COLT CAL.22 L.R.” on the base.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish with limited minor handling evidence, clear roll-marks, along with crisp
engraving and grip checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Factory Class “A” Engraved Colt Second Series Woodsman Match Target Semi-Automatic Pistol with
Factory Letter - Serial no. 058529S, 22 LR cal., 6 inch slab side bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in
1974. The included factory letter lists this pistol’s configuration, with a 6 1/2 inch barrel (possibly a factory recording
error) in .22 Long Rifle caliber, blue finish, type of grips not listed, and Class “A” standard level factory scroll engraving (engraver’s
name not listed), when sent as the only pistol of its type in a shipment to Sport Inc. at 300 Montana Building in Lewiston, Montana,
(for Powderhorn Gun Shop of Bozeman, Montana) on August 26, 1983, under Colt Factory Order #2312. The factory letter further notes
that this pistol was originally shipped on a loan account to Charles Kelly of Englewood, Colorado, on May 15, 1975, and subsequently
returned to the factory. Features fixed ramped blade front and adjustable notch rear sights, a smooth trigger, serrated front and back
straps, the single-line Colt address roll-marked on the left side of the barrel, the caliber designation roll-marked on the left side of the slide,
Rampant Colt over “MATCH TARGET” on the left side of the frame with the serial number on the right side, along with Class “A” factory floral
scroll engraving with punch-dot backdrop on the frame, barrel, and slide. Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips and a blued magazine marked “COLT/
CAL.22L.R.” on the base.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish with limited minor handling evidence, clear markings, well-defined grip checkering, and crisp engraving. Mechanically excellent.
