The barrel has a blade front sight, the one-line address on top, and “44” on
the bottom at the breech. The ejector rod has a bullseye head. The trigger
guard has “44 CAL” on the left side. The frame has the three-line patent
markings on the left surrounded by engraving. Matching visible serial
numbers are on the frame, trigger guard, back strap, and cylinder, with
assembly number “6684” on the loading gate.
CONDITION: Good, with “the look,” displaying natural frontier character,
retaining traces of period retailer nickel finish with smooth brown patina
on the balance, some light pitting, and mostly legible engraving. Grip is
also good, with attractive patina, a few chips, western wear, age lines, and a
defined relief carved Mexican eagle. Mechanically functions.
