Winchester Model 1876 Lever Action Rifle with Factory Letter - Serial no. 57844, 40-60 WCF cal., 24 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1887, this is a Third Model 1876 with the dust cover guide rail integral to the receiver. Blade front sight, rear ladder sight, and rear adjustable Lyman peep sight marked “1876” mounted on the upper tang. The top barrel flat is marked with the two-line address/King’s
Improvement patent dates ahead of the rear sight and “40-60 W.C.F.” at the breech. The bottom of the brass
elevator has been stamped “40-60”. This rifle is equipped with a set trigger with adjustment screw. The serial number is marked on
the lower tang behind the lever latch. Blue finish with casehardened hammer and lever. Mounted with a smooth walnut forearm with a steel end cap and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate with buttstock compartment (cleaning rod not included). The
accompanying factory letter confirms the rifle configuration and that it was received in the warehouse on December 31, 1887 and shipped on the same day with another Model 1876, order number 3488.
CONDITION: Very good as partially refinished (wood and chamber area has cold blue/brown touch up). The rifle retains 40% of the blue finish with a mix of smooth brown and gray
patina with some scattered scratches. The casehardened hammer and lever have a smooth grey patina. The brass elevator has a smooth dark patina. The markings are clear. The re-varnished fancy burl walnut wood is also very good with only a few scattered scratches and dings. Mechanically fine. Estimate: 4,000 - 5,500
Fine Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle in Desirable .38-55 W.C.F. - Serial no. 66969, 38-55 WCF cal., 26 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1899, the top of flat of the barrel is marked with the two-line address and “38-55” caliber marking at the breech. The upper tang is marked with the three-line model, trademark, and patent information, and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. It is fitted with a reflector beaded blade front sight and a three-leaf rear sight. It is mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Fine, retains 70% plus of the original blue finish, 80% plus of the vibrant original case colors, and 40% of the original nitre blue on the loading gate with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina and a few scattered small patches of light pitting, mostly at the muzzle. The re-oiled wood is very good with some scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500

Antique Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle with Casehardened Receiver in Desirable .45-70 - Serial no. 74884, 45-70 cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1892 and chambered for the popular .45-70 Govt. cartridge favored by many in the American West for hunting big game. The rifle features blue and casehardened finishes, German silver blade front sight, notch and folding ladder rear sight, standard markings, and smooth walnut stock and forearm with crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Very good plus with 30% original blue finish, 20% original case colors, and mild overall wear including some light oxidation and staining. The re-oiled wood is also fine and has mild scratches and dings and smooth finish. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: Richard Peters, USMC, Reserves Law Enforcement, a Gentleman. LOT 81 Winchester Model 1895 Lever Action Rifle - Serial no. 31537, 30-40 Krag cal., 28 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1901 with standard markings. It is fitted with a beaded blade front sight and elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sight. It is mounted with a Schnabel tip forearm with ebony insert and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 70% plus of the original blue finish and 85% of the vibrant case colors on the hammer with the balance having thinned to a mixture of grey and brown patinas, primarily on the top and sides of the receiver. The wood is also very fine with a few scattered minor dings. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750
