Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches. The extra barrel set is numbered to the gun with an extra “2” marking denoting it as the second in the set, with standard rib marking,
2 3/4 inch chambers, single extractor, and cylinder/cylinder chokes. The included factory letter confirms the gauge, barrel length,
finish, wood stock, extra $125 worth of enhancments, and the extra barrel set when it was shipped to J. B. Ridgeway & Sons on
December 12, 1891. Also includes an unmarked black painted hardwood case and three-piece wood cleaning rod.
CONDITION: Very fine. The barrels have 80% plus original Damascus pattern, light spotting, and remnants of a yellowing coat of preservative varnish.
The receiver has 50% plus original, vibrant case colors with the balance a smooth silver/gray patina with crisp, well defined engraving and mild wear on the trigger guard. The wood is fine with sharp, well defined checkering with flat spots on right rear, numerous small dings, and attractive grain. Mechanically excellent. Extra barrel set is fine with some light edge wear and mild thinning, 50% Damascus pattern, and some light scratches. Case is fine with scuffs and dings on the exterior, and mild discoloration of the linen interior.

Hammer Shotgun with Factory Letter - Serial no. 7821, 10 gauge, 32 inch solid rib bbl., blue/brown/casehardened
finish, walnut stock. Blued Damascus steel barrels with a
single bead sight on the smooth solid rib, 2 1/2 inch chambers
with extractor, and chokes measured .033/.030 inches. The
casehardened rebounding hammer action is unadorned
aside from the factory marking on either lock. Lightly figured,
multi-point checkered splinter forend with ebony tip inlay and round knob pistol grip stock with blued steel buttplate. The
included factory letter confirms the current grade 6, gauge, barrel length, and finish when it was shipped on November 8th,
1881 to Hibbard, Spencer & Company of Chicago, Illinois as a single gun shipment. All matching visible serial numbers. Stock
measurements: 2 3/8 inch drop at comb; 3 3/4 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull. Weight: 10 lbs. 10 oz.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 80% original blue/brown finish on the attractive Damascus twist barrels with all of the pattern visible. The
casehardened components retain 30% of the original case colors with smooth cloudy brown and gray patinas on the balance. Sharp
markings and edges in the metal overall. The wood is also fine with numerous scattered scratches and dents. The firing pin tips are absent, otherwise mechanically excellent.
