   LOT 1168
Engraved Dolne Patent ‘Apache’ Style Knuckle Duster Revolver with Dagger - Serial no. 9087, 22 cal., 1 1/2 inch cluster bbl.,
blue finish, metal
grips. These
knuckle duster revolvers
were designed by Frenchman Louis Dolne in the
late 1860s and combine three fearsome weapons: a revolver,
brass knuckles, and dagger. The guns were likely scarcely
actually fired but served as a legitimate threat to guarantee
compliance with demands. This example has a 2 3/4 inch folding
blade, spurless hammer, 6-shot fluted barrel cluster and the serial number marked on the underside of the floral scroll engraved iron frame.
CONDITION: Very good with traces of blue finish in protected areas with a grey and brown patina overall with high edge wear and mostly crisp engraving. The latch keeping the grip extended is weak, otherwise mechanically fine.
Estimate: 2,750 - 4,250
LOT 1171
Unmarked Relief Engraved Folding Knife Pistol - NSN, 40 cal., 4 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, metal grips. This knife pistol is fitted with a Damascus steel barrel that has no sights and is devoid of markings with a percussion nipple at the rear. The hammer and grip scales are engraved with relief scenes of a dog chasing a fox on the left and a hunter looking for his dog who’s bringing him back a game bird on the right. A pick folds down from the left hand side to act as a grip and the trigger folds down from the right.
A 3 1/2 inch blade folds down from between the trigger and pick.
CONDITION: Good with an overall grey and brown patina overall with distinct patterns on the barrel, scattered pitting, and crisp engraving on the scales. The blade shows some reshaping from sharpening with a small chip near the bottom. The trigger does not stay firmly against the body when not engaged,
otherwise mechanically fine.
Estimate: 2,000 - 3,500

with scroll and floral engraving.
CONDITION: Very good, retaining 70% period replated nickel finish with an attractive grey patina on the balance, flaking on the barrel and blade, scattered patches of light pitting. The scales show an attractive patina with well- defined engraving. Mechanically fine.

acts as a trigger. The mechanism, blade, and corkscrew are housed in an iron
