Excellent Mauser Post-World War I Bolo Broomhandle Semi-Automatic
Pistol - Serial no. 637941, 7.63 mm Mauser auto cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured after World War I chiefly for commercial sale, the
“Bolo” Broomhandle was slightly scaled down from the original 1896 design, retaining the operation and chambering but making for an easier to carry weapon. Blade front and 1000 meter tangent rear sights, with the three-line address and “crown/crown/U” proofs on the chamber, two-line address on the right side of the frame and Mauser “banner” logo on the left. Matching numbers are present on the barrel, bolt, takedown latch, “NS” hammer, hammer housing, frame, grip panels and floorplate. Consignor research is included. CONDITION: Excellent, with 98% plus original blue finish, showing minor edge wear and light handling marks. 95% original niter blue finish is present on the small parts, with minor spotting on the extractor. The grips are also excellent with a few minor dings. Mechanically excellent.

Merchant Markings and Matching Shoulder Stock - Serial no.
40537, 7.63 mm Mauser auto cal., 4 inch round bbl., blue finish, gutta
percha grips. Manufactured with a “bolo” sized barrel and grip frame and fine gutta percha grips. Blade front and 1000 meter tangent rear sights, with the Mauser address, “crown/crown/U” and “antler” markings on the chamber, “NS” hammer, two-line address on the right side of the frame, and “VON LENGERKE/& DETMOLD/NEW-YORK” on the left. Matching numbers are present on multiple components, including the interior of the aforementioned gutta percha grips. Included with the lot is a scarce bolo-sized shoulder stock, with matching serial number on the mounting iron. CONDITION: Fine, with 60% of the original blue
finish, showing areas of brown and
gray patina, bright edge wear, mild
spotting and light handling marks.
The grips are also fine, with a few light
scratches and good detail. The stock
is very good as refinished/repaired, with mended
breaks in the lid, mild scratches, and light sanding. Mechanically needs

Broomhandle Semi-Automatic Pistol in 9mm Export Caliber with Matching Shoulder
Stock - Serial no. 88018, 9 mm Mauser (Export) cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood
grips. Blade front and 1000 meter tangent rear sights, with the Mauser “banner” logo on top of
the chamber, “crown/crown/U” on the left side, and the two-line address on the left side of the
frame. Matching serial numbers are present on multiple parts, with a small ring “NS” hammer and 31-groove grips. Included with the lot is a hardwood shoulder stock, numbered to match on the mounting iron.
CONDITION: Very fine, showing
80% plus original blue finish,
with a cleaned gray patina on
the top chamber flat, bright
edge wear and scattered spotting
and handling marks. The grips are fine with
mild scuffs and dents, and the stock is very good, with 50% original blue on hinge, a crack in the body and chipping in the lid. Mechanically excellent.

World War I Mauser “Red Nine” Broomhandle Semi-Automatic Pistol with Shoulder Stock -
Serial no. 34946, 9 mm Luger cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood grips. Manufactured
1916-1918. Blade front and 500-meter tangent rear sights, with the three-line address on the top
chamber flat, “crown/Gothic letter” military proof on the right chamber flat, “crown/crown/U” on the
chamber and bolt, and the two-line address on the right side of the frame. External numbers are
matching overall with a New Safety hammer, slotted back strap, and matching numbered grips with a branded and red-filled “9” on each panel. Included with the pistol is a hardwood shoulder stock.
CONDITION: Fine, with 75% of the original blue finish, showing some light spotting and handling marks overall, along with mild edge wear and a few hints of a brown and gray patina. The grips are very good, with some light dents and scratches. The reoiled stock is very good, with brown patina on the metal components. Mechanically fine.
