20th century, Cosmi guns appear to be both futuristic while also hearkening to the past with its
unique break action semi-automatic action. The gun is operated by breaking the action to expose the
internals, loading shells in the magazine tube which is housed in the stock, placing a round in the chamber, then manually cocking the hammer before closing the action and making the gun ready to fire. This gun is built with a blued Bohler Antinit steel barrel featuring a single bead sight on the matted vent rib, 1972 dated Italian proofs, 2 3/4 inch chamber, and choke constriction of .029 inches (full). The two-tone action is unadorned aside from a single button on the left and the Cosmi factory marking on the left side reading “COSMI - BREVETTATO - TORRETTE -
ANCONA - MADE IN ITALY”. Highly attractive, contrastingly figured, multi-point checkered forend with a monogram on the gold initial diamond and pistol grip stock with gold inscription oval reading “N.2” and a checkered bare butt. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and bright polished finishes with minor handling evidence. The wood is very fine with a few light dings and scratches, a stress line at the upper tang, and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. A rare chance to own one of these very interesting guns! Estimate: 10,000 - 16,000
