Elegant Factory Engraved David McKay Brown 20 Gauge Round Action Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 7425, 20 gauge, 27 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. David McKay Brown founded his company in 1967 after apprenticing with John Dickson & Sons, and by 1974 he had revived Scotland’s most famous contribution to fine gunmaking, the triggerplate round action. Since then the company has grown to be one
of the finest bespoke gunmakers in the United Kingdom, rivaling even the oldest names in the business such as Purdey, Holland & Holland, and Westley Richards to name a few. This fine gun has blued steel chopperlump barrels with a single nickel bead sight on the narrow concave rib which is signed “DAVID McKAY BROWN, 32 HAMILTON ROAD, BOTHWELL”. The barrels also show bands of engraving at either breech with small wedges of floral scrollwork extending toward the muzzle from the breech, 1984 dated London proof marks, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors.
