Excellent Factory Engraved Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co. 16 Gauge A. H. Fox
DE Grade Double Barrel Shotgun Two Barrel Set with Case - Serial no. F205600, 16 gauge, 26 inch solid
rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company builds these exceedingly
fine guns by hand just as they were over 100 years ago when Ansley Herman Fox designed his world famous gun. Fox guns
are known as “the finest gun in the world” by many and C.S.M.C. is keeping that legacy alive through guns like this exceptional
piece. This gun is built with blued steel barrels featuring dual white
beads on the matted concave solid rib which is marked with a thin
gold line and a “1” toward the breech. The barrels are marked “MADE
TO ORDER A. H. FOX” and “KRUPP FLUID STEEL” on the right and left
barrels respectively, 2 1/4 inch wedges of floral scroll engraving at either breech, and
2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The vibrantly case colored boxlock action is
set up with a left hand throw toplever and displays beautifully cut floral scroll engraving
surrounding “ANSLEY H. FOX” banners on either side and a set of three game scenes. The
left side shows a pair of grouse flushing near a stand of pines, the underside shows a setter on point, and the right side shows a pair of pheasant in flight over a field, with all three cut in fine semi-relief. The gun features
a pair of gold plated triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety switch with a gold inlaid “SAFE” marking. Exhibition grade, highly
figured fancy checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and an ebony tip inlay along with a straight grip stock with gold
inscription oval marked “NGN” and casehardened and engraved skeleton buttplate around the checkered butt. Included is a second matching 16 gauge barrel set which measures 28
inches and features 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors and its own forend. Also included is an oak & leather takedown case that houses the entire set along with a nickel oiler, and
a pair of nickel snap caps. Barrel measurements for set “2” (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .662/.662 inches; choke constriction .015/.007 inches; minimum wall thickness

CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and casehardened finishes with minimal handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case and extra barrel set are also excellent. Mechanically excellent. A rare chance to get your hands on an exceptional gun in a left handed configuration!

Factory Master Simon Lytton Engraved and Gold Inlaid F. E. Malin .410 Bore Royal Presentation Model Double Barrel Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 81003, 410 gauge, 27 3/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened/gold finish, walnut stock. Frank E. Malin was a English gunmaker who apprenticed at Webley & Scott before emigrating to Canada in the 1970s to set up his own business in Melbourne, Ontario. This gun is built with blued steel barrels featuring a single brass bead on the fully engraved concave solid rib which is marked “F. E. Malin, London, Ont.” in gold inlaid lettering, wedges of scrollwork at either breech, Birmingham proof marks on the flats with “CANADA” on the left barrel, and
3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The vibrant casehardened sidelock
action displays fine scrollwork with gold inlaid flowers, “F. E. Malin” in gold on
either side of the action, and gold inlaid line borders. The underside of the
action is marked in gold block letters “THE ROYAL/PRESENTATION” around a
gold coronet. The gold and scrollwork continues off of the action and on to
the toplever, triggerguard, and both tangs, the lower of which features the
serial number in gold. The work was carried out by British Master Engraver
Simon Lytton who has signed “S. M. Lytton” to the left of the triggerguard.
The gun features bushed firing pins, a set or double triggers with articulated
front, and a tang mounted manual safety switch with gold inlaid “SAFE” marking. Exceptionally
well-figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved and gold inlaid fittings and straight grip stock with teardrop carved flats, a blank gold inscription oval, and a checkered bare butt. Included is an oak & leather takedown case with cleaning tools, horn turnscrews, an oiler, and snap caps. Stock measurements: 1 1/2
inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 3/5 inch length of pull; weight 5 lbs. 8 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue, casehardened, and gold finishes with minimal handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is fine. Mechanically excellent.
