Diet Signed Factory Engraved and Gold Inlaid Belgian Browning Grade V BAR Semi-Automatic Rifle - Serial no. 73532M71, 338 Win magnum cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. The Grade V rifles were only manufactured from 1971 to 1974, with this rifle being manufactured in 1971. This example features a tapered barrel manufactured without sights. The left side
near the breech is marked with the one line address
over “MADE IN BELGIUM”, and the caliber designation and
“BROWNING PATENTS” are on the right side. Each side of the receiver is engraved with scenes of three gold inlaid animals (elk on the left, moose on the right) with a gold inlaid wire border. Surrounding the scenes
is a floral vine design with a punch dot background. The same floral vine design is on the bottom of the magazine and trigger guard. The receiver is signed “J Baerten” and “Jean H. Diet” on the left for engravers Jose Baerten and Jean H. Diet. The top of the receiver has a atte finish. Mounted in a nicely figured floral scroll carved forearm and pistol grip stock with sling swivel studs and Browning recoil pad. taining 99% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks and crisp engraving. Wood is very fine with a few hairline cracks at the receiver and crisp carving and checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 8,000 - 12,000

Manufactured in Belgium in 1970. Features a blued barrel with brass bead in blade front and flip-up adjustable notch rear sights, standard factory markings, and a gold trigger. Embellished with standard Grade III engravings on the French grey receiver,
with hound pointing at two pheasants on the left, hound with mallard in mouth on top, and hound pursuing three mallard ducks on the right side
along with “A.BEE” signed at the bottom. Fitted in a beautifully figured multi-point checkered forearm and buttstock with ribbed steel buttplate.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus original blue and 97% French grey finishes with light handling marks, oxidation between the receiver front face and barrel latch, flaking on the trigger, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 5,000

Manufactured in Belgium in 1962. Features a blued barrel with brass bead in blade front and flip-up adjustable notch rear sights, standard factory markings, and a gold trigger. Embellished with standard Grade III engravings on the French grey receiver, with hound pointing at two pheasants on the left, hound with mallard in mouth on top, and hound pursuing three mallard ducks on the right side. The both game scenes on each side of the receiver are signed “A.MARECHAL” at the bottom. Fitted in a beautifully figured multi-point checkered forearm and buttstock with ribbed steel buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue and French grey finishes with minimal handling marks, minor flaking on the trigger, and crisp forend and stock checkering. Embellished with standard engraved game scenes on the French grey finished receiver, including a pair of squirrels in a tree on the right, a pair of prairie dogs on the left, and a single mallard on the top which is signed “RB”. Mounted in beautifully figured fancy skip-line checkered forend and stock with ribbed steel buttplate.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue and French grey finishes with a patch of discoloration in the French grey finish, minimal handling evidence, and sharp stock and forend checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,000
