M1001398A, 12 gauge, 11 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood stock. Developed in South Africa in the 1990s, the Mag-7 was conceived as a close combat weapon to fill a similar niche to the submachine gun by very different means. Instead of using bursts of fire to increase hit probability and lethality, the Mag-7 is a pump action shotgun using proprietary shortened shot shells that can fit inside a pistol grip magazine well. While still in production, importation into the United States was in low numbers and chiefly in the NFA-compliant “M1” configuration; this example was brought in by PW Arms and restored to a short barreled shotgun. Blade front and notch rear sights, with a birdcage flash hider concealing an angle-cut barrel, with an ambidextrous safety, checkered forearm and pistol grip, and a hardwood buttstock. Length of pull is 16 5/8 inches. Included with the lot is one extra magazine and a photocopied instruction manual. CONDITION: Excellent, with 95% of the original blue finish, showing some light wear and handling marks overall. The furniture shows some mild scuffs. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,500
