Letter - Serial no. 357322, 38 Special cal., 7
1/2 inch vent rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut grips. The included factory
letter indicates that the historical records
for this revolver have been lost, but the production records did indicate that it was factory engraved and was manufactured on October 10, 1940. The Colt-King Super Target configuration was not mentioned. The revolver features light scroll engraving on the breech end of the barrel, the ejector, the frame, the cylinder, and the grip straps and has standard markings, including matching serial numbers on the frame, cylinder (“22” on the rear), right
sight and adjustable white outline notch rear sight, an iconic King’s “Cockeyed” hammer, knurled trigger, and earlier production replacement checkered walnut grips with deep set silver Colt medallion.
CONDITION: Very fine with crisp engraving and markings, 85% plus original blue and casehardened finish, and minor fading and wear from use, including mild drag lines. The grips are also very fine and have crisp checkering and minor handling and storage marks. Mechanically excellent.
Estimate: 14,000 - 22,500
