DWM Model 1902 Luger Semi-Automatic Carbine with Shoulder Stock and Holster - Serial no. 21850, 7.65 mm Luger Auto cal., 11 3/4 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, walnut stock, walnut grips. This is a fine example of a DWM Model 1902 Luger carbine that is complete with a shoulder stock. These carbines were an attempt by DWM to produce a lightweight rifle substitute. There were a total of 2,500 of this model reportedly produced in two serial number blocks. The desirable features of these carbines include the long frame, flat mainspring, grip safety, dished toggles, recessed/flat breech bolt, and the 11 3/4 inch barrel. Due to the longer barrel, these carbines have a small spring accelerator mechanism in the forearm that aids in cycling. Fitted with a three position rear sight (adjustable from 100-300 meters) mounted on top of the barrel in front of the receiver and a bead front sight mounted on a ramp on top of the barrel. The top of the chamber area is blank, and the front toggle has the DWM logo. Full serial number marked on the frame extension and the underside of the barrel. The last two digits of the serial number are marked on the bottom of the recoil lug, inside the forend, grip safety, trigger, takedown lever, side plate, breech bolt, and toggle assembly. Unnumbered replacement walnut grips. Fitted with a nickel plated magazine with a small flaming bomb stamped on the wooden base. The included period walnut shoulder stock features a checkered wrist, lower sling swivel, black horn buttplate, with the top of the attaching iron re-stamped with matching number “50” over top of two previous numbers. Includes a period leather holster. CONDITION: Fine overall, retains 75% original blue finish with some edge wear, wear on the grip straps, and a patch of light pitting visible on the stock lug, light handling marks, replacement grips with a wear spot on the top area of right grip panel. Mechanically excellent. The shoulder stock is also fine with some light handling marks and dents, and re-stamped matching number. The period holster is fine with supple leather. This fine example of a DWM Model 1902 Luger carbine, complete with a shoulder stock and period holster, makes for a desirable example for the Luger collector! Provenance: The Dr. Jim Watson Collection; Property of a Gentleman. Estimate: 12,000 - 18,000
