Factory Master Ferruccio
Iora Signed and Engraved Ivo Fabbri
Self-Opening Sidelock Over/Under
Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 3157,
12 gauge, 28 inch vent rib bbl., blue/
casehardened finish, walnut stock. Ivo
Fabbri began his career in firearms along
side one of the most well-known names
in the business, Daniele Perazzi. After
they split, Perazzi went on to create
arguably the world’s finest sporting
guns, and Fabbri perused his dream
to build the finest guns in the world, with this gun being the embodiment of
that goal. Fabbri only builds some 30 guns a year, each is hand crafted from the
ground up by some of Italy’s finest craftsmen, making guns such
as these not all that commonly available for public sale. This
gun was built with blued barrels featuring a single bead sight
on the matted solid rib, “-BOHLER-SUPER-BLITZ-
STEEL-” marked on the right of the upper
tube and “-ARMI-FABBRI-BRESCIA-” on
the left, light engraving at the breech
and chamber, and 1970 dated Italian
proofs showing 2 3/4 inch chambers
with automatic ejectors. The barrels are
fitted to a gorgeous casehardened self-
opening sidelock action with beautifully
cut tight scroll engraving at the borders
and attractive bright pins creating a
very pleasing contrast. The lockplates
both show “FABBRI” Signatures and the
underside of the action is marked “ARMI-
FABBRI/BRESCIA”. The engraving is signed
on the triggerplate “F. IORA Inc.” for renowned Italian
Master Engraver Ferruccio Iora who carried out the
work. The gun features bright cocking indicators on
either lockplate, a single trigger, and a manual tang
mounted safety (stuck off ). The walnut beautifully
figured and multi-point checkered on the forend which
shows engraved blue fittings and a push button release
and pistol grip stock with blank gold initial oval and a
rubber recoil pad. Includes an oak & leather takedown
case with factory trade label and a set of snap caps.
