Magnificent Factory Engraved and Gold Inlaid Hartmann & Weiss Bolt Action Rifle in .416 Rigby with Zeiss Scope - Serial no. 9901, 416 Rigby cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened/gold finish, walnut stock. Built with a blued steel barrel featuring a ramped beaded blade front sight with a flip-up moon bead, three-leaf (one standing, two folding) rear sight on the matted rear quarter rib which is marked
figured and multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with ebony forend tip, engraved and casehardened trap door grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, blank gold inscription oval, rear sling stud, and leather wrapped recoil pad. Includes
a canvas and leather sling.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue, casehardened, and gold finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and
 “.416 RIGBY” in fine gold inlay, “.HARTMANN & WEISS - HAMBURG.” marked in gold lettering on the top of the barrel, front sling swivel, and a pair of gold inlaid bands at the breech. The barrel is mated to a beautifully casehardened Mauser type action which displays exceptional near full coverage floral scroll engraving, matching engraving on the bolt, extended upper tang, and bolt knob which has a knurled handle, niter blue ejector, import mark on the rail, and a pair of blued quick detach scope mounts holding a Zeiss Diavari-Z 1.25-4x24mm T* scope. The bottom metal, lower tang, floorplate, and triggerguard are also casehardened and show matching scroll engraving along with the recoil lug. The rifle is mounted in a gorgeous highly
forend. The scope has sharp optics. Mechanically excellent. A great chance to own a fantastic German sporting arm!
