Fine Factory Engraved Gebruder Merkel 16 Gauge Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun Two Barrel Set with Case - Serial no. 481486, 16 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single brass bead sight on the matted concave
solid rib which is marked with a gold “1” at the base, standard markings, 2 1/4 inch wedges of scroll engraving at either breech, front sling swivel, import mark under the forend, 2004 dated German proofs, choke constrictions of .005/.024 inches, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are mated with an attractive coin finished sidelock action which displays extensive near full coverage scroll engraving that extends to the toplever, both tangs, and the triggerguard where it surrounds a gold “HB” monogram. The gun features bushed firing pins, cocking indicators, gold plated double triggers, and a tang mounted manual safety. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and
a straight grip stock with rear sling swivel and leather covered recoil pad. Included is a second matching set of 28 inch 16 gauge barrels with a gold “2” at the base of the rib, its own forend, and .003/.014 inch choke constrictions. Also includes a wood and leather takedown case that houses the set. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 7 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The extra barrel set is excellent. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,750 - 4,750

Included with the gun is a second matching 28 inch double 12
gauge barrel set with 2 3/4 inch chambers and choke constrictions of .013/.028 inches. Includes a factory box that houses the barrel sets. Length of pull 14 3/8 inches. Weight 7 lbs. 10 oz. Factory Engraved Gebruder Merkel Boxlock Over/Under Combination Gun with Zeiss Scope
- Serial no. 20297, 12/10.3x60R mm Swiss gauge, 27 5/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Built with blued Bohler steel barrels with a beaded blade front sight, flip-up rear sight, and German style claw mounts holding a period Zeiss Zielvier scope on the matted solid rib, W. Glaser retailer mark near the left of the breech, front sling swivel, import mark under the forend, and chambers with extractors. The 12 gauge barrel has a 2 3/4 chamber and a
choke constriction of .041 inches. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened boxlock action which displays nice light scroll engraving and Merkel manufacturer’s information marked on the underside. The gun features double triggers (front is a single set) and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is mounted with a lightly figured and multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with raise cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, and a Decelerator recoil pad. Length of pull 14 inches. Weight 8 lbs. 6 oz. (with scope). CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and casehardened finishes with minor handling evidence and mostly sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The barrels are mated to a coin finished sidelock action which displays near full coverage scroll engraving and features bushed firing pins, gold arrow cocking indicators, double triggers, and a tang mounted safety.
