B) Manton Dueling Pistol - Serial no. 6126, 50 cal., 9 3/8 inch octagon bbl., brown/casehardened/blue/silver finish, walnut stock. See “A.” CONDITION: Very fine with 75% original brown twist finish with a patch of pitting towards the breech, 60% original faded case colors on the lock, 85% original case colors on the patent breech and standing breech, bright platinum, aged patina on the silver, 95% plus original blue finish on the trigger guard and mounts, and otherwise light handling and storage type marks. The stock is also very fine and has crisp checkering, a few light dings and scratches, and minor handling and storage wear. Mechanically excellent. Overall, a very desirable pair of John Manton & Son rifled dueling pistols. Provenance: The Norman R. Blank Collection.
