CONDITION: Fine with distinct markings and engraving, bright gold, much of the period rebrowned finish mixed with dark brown patina and Damascus patterns along the barrel, pitted overall, chipped top of frizzen, light original case colors and dark gray patina on the lock, 30% original blue finish remaining on the mounts, dark aged patina on the silver, and minor overall wear. The stock is good with a split and repair on the right side of the forearm, numerous light dings and scratches, and crisp checkering. The safety is broken, but the pistol is otherwise mechanically fine. The case is good and has mild age and storage related wear including some mothing and staining of the lining and a crack across the lid. The stock is also very good and has crisp checkering and numerous mild scratches and dings, repaired beneath lock. Mechanically fine. A classic cased pair of late 18th century English dueling pistols by innovative London gunmaker John Manton.
