Factory Master Ferruccio Iora Signed and Engraved Fabbri Tipo Piccione Extra Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. E363, 12 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock.
Ivo Fabbri got his start in firearms along side one of the most well-
known names in the business, Daniele Perazzi. After they split, Perazzi went on to create arguably the world’s finest sporting guns, and Fabbri perused his dream
to build the finest guns in the world, with this gun being true to that end. Fabbri only builds
some 30 guns a year, each is hand
crafted from the ground up by
some of Italy’s finest craftsmen.
Built with blued Bohler Super
Blitz Steel chopperlump barrels
featuring dual nickel bead sights on the
matted flat solid rib, left tube marked with standard markings, right tube marked with the
original owners name, bands of engraving at the breech, 1969 dated Italian proofs, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic
ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened sidelock action which displays highly attractive extensive scroll engraving with interspersed ribbons and bouquets all surrounding bright action pins and
a banner on the underside reading “ARMI FABBRI BRESCIA”. The
scrollwork the extends onto the triggerguard, toplever, and the
upper and lower tang where it surrounds the serial number in a
banner. The engraving is signed on the triggerplate
“F.IORA INC.” for Italian Master Engraver
Ferruccio Iora who executed the
work. The gun features a single non-
selective trigger, cocking indicators,
and a tang mounted manual safety. The gun is mounted with a highly- figured and multi-point checkered beavertail forend with engraved blued fittings and inlaid engraved pigeon and straight grip stock with
“J.C.” inlaid in gold directly into the wood and a factory rubber recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both measured 18.5mm (.728
inches) and measured .733/.728 inches; choke constriction .020/.031 inches; minimum wall thickness .029/.031 inches;
1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/8 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 6 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and casehardened finishes with minor handling evidence. The wood is very fine with a few minor dings, scratches, and sharp checkering.
