Bernardelli 20 Gauge Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun
with Case - Serial no. 126116, 20 gauge, 27 9/16 inch solid rib
bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with a
single bead sight on the matted flat solid rib, fully matted top
halves of both tubes, import mark on under rib beneath the
forend, and 1973 dated Italian proofs on the flats showing 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. Highly attractive coin finished sidelock action displaying deep carved fences and nicely executed floral scroll engraving
with floral bouquets interspersed and “V. BERNARDELLI SPA.” marked on the underside. The engraving is signed on the triggerplate “Italo/Bonomi”. The gun features a single trigger and a tang mounted safety. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with blued engraved shoe and coin release and pistol grip stock with checkered bare butt. Includes a wood
& leather takedown case. Stock measurements: 1 3/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/16 inch drop at heel; 14 3/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 5 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, 99% original blue and coin finishes with some light surface oxidation in the barrel matting, some dried grease on the action, and minor handling evidence. The wood is excellent with a few minor scratches and sharp checkering. Case is very fine. Safety slightly loose, otherwise mechanically excellent.
