Highly Desirable Cased Contemporary Engraved and Gold Inlaid .50 Caliber English Half-Stock Flintlock Sporting Rifle with 20 Gauge Shotgun Barrel by Judson J. Brennan - NSN, 50 cal., 34 inch
octagon and 34 inch part octagon bbl., brown/bright finish, walnut stock. This incredible cased set features an octagon .50 caliber rifled barrel signed “-I-BRENNAN” with a fixed silver blade front sight and a dovetailed notch rear sight and an octagon to round 20 gauge smoothbore barrel signed “I BRENNAN” with a silver blade front sight. Each barrel has a gold banded patent breech with a bands of engraving and gold vent liner and its own wooden ramrod with appropriate tip. The standing breech has English style floral and burst engraving. The bright L&R English Durs Egg - London lock also features floral and burst pattern engraving. The plum brown trigger guard features a pineapple finial, English martial themed engraving with decorative borders on the bow, and burst engraving on the scroll of the extension. The blued buttplate features additional martial and scroll engraving. The nicely figured stock has an ebony forend tip, checkered wrist, an oval cheekpiece, and a 14 inch length of pull. The fitted case has a “JUDSON-J-BRENNAN/GUN MAKER/to the/discriminating sportsman” trade label inside the lid based on John Krider’s trade label along with a black leather bound powder flask and a brown leather shot flask. Jud Brennan along with his sons Jesse, David, and Seth are truly among the most talented contemporary muzzleloading artisans and have produced a wide variety of pieces. Their work is highly sought after with examples found in some of the finest gun collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art. CONDITION: Extremely fine overall with light handling and storage marks. Aside from a minor hairline crack in the ramrod groove on the forend cap, the stock is very fine and has crisp checkering and light handling and storage marks. Mechanically excellent. Contemporary Judson Brennan Early Germanic Flintlock Jaeger Rifle with Jerry Fisher Pouch -
NSN, 60 cal., 30 3/4 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. This beautiful Germanic sporting rifle from current gunmaker Judson J. Brennan features a swamped octagon barrel with filework relieving at the muzzle, blade and notch sights, “J.J. BRENNAN.” signed behind the rear sight, a lined vent, and grooved breech. The rifle features an R.E. Davis “Jaeger” lock and adjustable double set triggers. The stock has a contrasting forend cap, incised and relief carving, a contrasting wood patchbox cover, and
very attractive two-tone hunter’s star inlay on the rounded cheekpiece. The rifle is accompanied by a brown and red leather shooting pouch by Jerry Fisher. Jud Brennan and his sons are truly among the most talented contemporary muzzleloading artisans and have produced firearms in a wide variety of styles as shown by this early German jaeger rifle. Their work is highly sought after with examples found in some of the finest gun collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art. CONDITION: Excellent overall with only minimal minor handling and storage marks. Mechanically excellent. The pouch is also excellent with minor wear. Estimate: 3,000 - 5,000

Exceptional Finely Engraved Silver Mounted J. Brennan & Sons Custom Bowie Knife with Scabbard and Jud Brennan Letter - Serial no. 11. This incredible Bowie
knife was purchased
in 1994 as detailed in an included
letter, and another letter from Judson
J. Brennan details that the knife was made from
a Daryl Meier Damascus billet made to Brennan’s
specifications and then shaped into a knife by Brennan, and that the pins, escutcheons, and scabbard fittings are .999 fine silver. The extensive engraving on the knife and scabbard is exceptionally well-executed classic American scroll with some Germanic floral accents and clear L.D. Nimschke influences. The blade is 12 inches long and is signed “J. BRENNAN/SON/Delta Jct Ak” on the obverse ricasso and “MADE OF THE/CELEBRATED/Meier Steel” on the reverse ricasso and “No. 11” on the underside. The scabbard has dark brown leather.
CONDITION: Excellent overall with minimal light age and handling marks. This is an absolutely beautiful example of Jud Brennan’s blade work and artistry. Estimate: 3,500 - 5,500
