LOT 3513 World War II Imperial Japanese Nagoya Arsenal Type 2 Bolt Action Paratrooper Rifle - Serial no. 13975, 7.7 mm cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood stock. Designed as a takedown version of the standard Type 99 Arisaka bolt action service rifle for use by Imperial Army paratroopers, utilizing a screw wedge on the right side to allow the barrel and forend section to separate from the action and stock section. Features fixed winged blade front sight and folding rear sight with anti-aircraft wings, a retained mum on the receiver, metal dust cover, smooth pistol grip stock with cupped buttplate, partial matching serial number

“975” marked on the underside of the bayonet lug, bolt handle, extractor, dust cover, and underside of the barrel lug, along with “943” assembly number on various components. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 85% plus original blue finish with minor edge wear, scattered minor spotting/pitting, slight thinning on the receiver, a loose forend assembly around the barrel, and smooth brown patina. The stock is fine as re-varnished. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 5,000 - 7,500

Tokyo Arsenal Baby Nambu Semi-Automatic Pistol with Matching Magazine and Holster - Serial no. 4957, 7 mm Nambu Auto cal., 3 1/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured by the Tokyo Arsenal from 1909 to 1928, the Baby Nambu was the semi-official officer’s pistol of the Imperial Japanese Military; officers would privately purchase their sidearms, with the Baby Nambu presented as the local alternative to imports from firms like Colt, FN and Walther. Fixed sights, with the “stacked cannonball” arsenal marking on top of the chamber and the nomenclature markings and serial number on the right side of the frame. Fitted with checkered grips and a nickel finished, alloy base magazine. Matching numbers are present on the magazine, cocking knob, mainspring guide, barrel and grip panels. Included with the pistol is an unmarked Japanese brown pigskin/leather holster for another undetermined Japanese Pistol with shoulder strap. CONDITION: Very fine, with 80% plus original blue finish, showing mild spotting concentrated on the gripstraps, patches of gray patina on top of the frame, and mild edge wear and handling marks overall. Some scuffs are present on the cocking knob serrations. Grips are also very fine, with crisp checkering, mild dings. The holster and strap are fine and show minor scuffing and cracking, and some lost stitching. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 5,500 - 7,500

Excellent Chinese Marked Astra Model 900 Broomhandle Semi-Automatic Pistol with Shoulder Stock - Serial no. 27566, 7.63 mm Mauser auto cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. This is an outstanding Spanish Astra 900 semi-automatic pistol manufactured circa 1933. A large number of these were known to have been exported to China prior
to World War II; the Chinese market was hungry for handguns and carbines in general, with Broomhandle-pattern semi-autos especially popular. Blade front and 1000-meter tangent rear sights, with the left sideplate marked “”ASTRA” AUTOMATIC PISTOL CAL 763/PATENTED JULY. 12,

Matching numbers are present on the follower, magazine base, the interior of the 12-groove grips and the grip frame. Included with the lot is a hardwood combination shoulder stock and holster
(numbered to a different pistol inside the lid) and a stripper clip. CONDITION: Excellent, with 95% plus of the original blue finish, showing minor
edge wear, spotting and handling marks. Some light dings are present on the otherwise excellent grips. The magazine spring shows minor damage, but otherwise the pistol is mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,500 - 4,750
