Wonderful Factory Engraved J. Rigby & Co./Mauser Bolt Action Rifle in 7mm Rem Magnum with Zeiss Scope - Serial no. 6876, 7 mm Rem Magnum cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. This rifle along with the previous two lots and the following three lots display the entire range of rifles available from Rigby, from the rare small frame .223 Remington to the massive .450 Rigby Magnum. Rigby has long been one of the finest makers of rifles in the world, and this grouping is a veritable tour de force showing off their outstanding craftsmanship with the entire grouping sharing the same style. The rifle was built without sights on the blued steel barrel which is marked “J. Rigby & Co. London, England” on the top side and bears the front sling swivel along with 1997 dated London proofs. The Mauser made standard length action is also blued and displays beautifully cut floral scroll engraving with original Mauser markings on the left side and “CAL. 7M/M/REM. MAG.” and “MADE IN/ENGLAND” marked in panels on the left and right side of the front receiver ring. The rifle is fitted with matching engraved scope mounts and rings holding a Zeiss Diavari-Z 2.5-10x48mm T* scope as well as nitre blue extractor and ejector, gold inlaid “SAFE” marking, and a four panel checkered bolt knob. The bottom metal and floorplate are engraved with the same elegant scroll engraving surrounding gold inlaid lettering reading “RIGBY/7M/M R.M” on the floorplate and the serial number “6876” on the triggerguard. The barrel and action are mounted in a attractive flame figured and multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with engraved and casehardened grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, “SRM” marked in the gold inscription oval, rear sling swivel, and a black leather covered recoil pad. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue finish with a slight plum hue overall, extractor box nitre blue showing some straw coloration, and minor handling evidence. The stock is very fine with a few minor varnish freckles, minor chipping at the lower tang inlet, and sharp checkering. Scope optics are sharp. Mechanically excellent.

The barrel and action are mounted in an attractive highly-figured and multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with engraved and casehardened grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, “SRM” marked in the gold inscription oval, rear sling swivel, and a black leather covered recoil pad. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish, cycling evidence/wear on the claw extractor, minor handling evidence, a few minor scratches on the stock, and sharp checkering on the wood. Scope optics are sharp. Mechanically excellent.
