Factory Engraved and Gold Inlaid Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co./Winchester Model 21 Grand American Double Rifle in .375 Winchester with 28 Gauge Shotgun Barrel Set and Case - Serial no. 31371, 375 Win cal., 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/gold finish, deluxe carved/checkered walnut stock. This is a truly unique example of a double rifle built on a Winchester Model 21 frame by Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co. Not only is it a desirable double rifle, but it is beautifully decorated in the Grand American style adding to its desirability as well as the already rare to begin with set of 28 gauge barrels completing the set. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a ramped beaded blade front sight, three-leaf (one standing, two folding) rear sight on the rear quarter rib, standard model marking, with the additional “375-WIN” mark on the left, 4 inch wedges of scroll engraving at the breech, and chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are mated to a blued action which displays the classic and Grand American pattern engraving consisting of near full coverage floral scrollwork surrounding four gold inlaid game scenes. The left side shows a setter in a field scene, the right has a pointer in a field scene, the underside shows a pair of pheasants in a field scene, and a bust of a pointer on the triggerguard all rendered in highly detailed gold inlay.
