Excellent Early World War II German
Occupation Production Slotted
Fabrique Nationale Model 1935 High-
Power (P.640b) Semi-Automatic Pistol
with Tangent Sight and Holster - Serial
no. 51142, 9 mm Luger cal., 4 3/4 inch round
bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured
early during the German occupation of
Belgium in World War II from 1940 to 1944,
when the Fabrique Nationale factory was taken
over by the occupiers and continued operation
to aid the war effort utilizing existing designs
that were in production prior. Features fixed
front and adjustable tangent rear (graduated
from 50 to 500) sights, early occupation
production polished blue finish, back strap
slotted for shoulder stock, and matching serial
numbers on the frame, slide, and barrel. With
the FN address and Browning patent markings
on the left of the slide, along with a single
“eagle/WaA613” proof on the left of the frame
and import markings on the bottom of the magazine well. The barrel is also marked with “eagle/WaA613” proofs on the right side of the chamber and recoil lug. Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips with red painted interiors and a phosphate finished magazine with “eagle/WaA613” proof and blued floorplate. Includes an extra blued magazine with “eagle/WaA” proof and “SA” marked floorplate, along with an “ept/1942” marked brown leather flap holster.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 90% plus original early German occupation production era polished blue finish with limited minor spotting, minor edge wear, along with some grey/brown patina showing through on the grip straps, but otherwise mild handling marks and bright roll marks. The grips are very fine with compression wear and defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very good with painted exterior, some mild scuff wear, and supple leather.

World War II German Police Proofed “ac”
Code “Blank Slide” Walther Model PP Semi-Automatic Pistol Documented in “Axis Pistols” by Jan Still - Serial no. 372994P, 7.65 mm auto cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1945 without the standard Walther banner or marking on the slide. It is estimated that a few thousand of these late war Walther Model PP pistols were completed before the factory was overrun by U.S. forces in April 1945. This exact pistol is photographed on page 231 of the book “Axis Pistols” by Jan C. Still. The lot is also accompanied by a Certificate
of Authenticity from noted author Jan C. Still’s family verifying it was in his personal collection. The left side
of the frame is marked with an “eagle/F” German police acceptance stamp, “eagle/N” proofs on the right of the slide and chamber, and “ac” code on the right of the
slide. Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights
a 60-degree safety lever and lacks a loaded chamber indicator. Fitted with checkered “Walther banner”
marked plastic grips.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% original blue finish
with thinning on the grip straps and some light high edge wear. The left grip is fine with a large crack in the middle, and the right grip is very fine, with some light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Jan C. Still Collection;

P.38 Semi-Automatic Pistol
with Rare “HZa” Marking, Photographed in “The P.38
Pistol, Volume 3” by Warren Buxton - Serial no. 2629w,
9 mm Luger cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, synthetic grips.
This exact pistol is pictured on page 225 of the book “The P.38 Pistol, Volume 3” by Warren Buxton and is noted as having a rare HZa stamp of the Heeres Zeugamt (Army Material Office), who controlled sixteen master depots. On page 224 of the
book, the author indicates that this
rare stamp remains a mystery on the
very limited few P.38s it has been
seen on, and that it is not believed
to be a rework or repair stamp. The
stamp consists of an eagle above
“HZajc3” located on the right of the
slide. Fixed sights, “byf/44” Mauser
code marked left of slide, “eagle/
WaA135” proofs on the right of the
slide, left of the frame, left of the barrel and right of the locking block, with matching serial numbers on the frame, slide, barrel and locking block. Eagle and “BH” stamp of the Bundesheer (Austrian Army) on the left of the frame, with an import mark on the right. Fitted with a later replacement blued Walther magazine dated “11/64” on the rear of the body.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 90% arsenal refurbished blue finish with some scattered patches of light pitting visible underneath the finish. Grips are also very fine with some scratches and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

World War II “Eagle/37” German Military Proofed Sauer Model 38H Semi-Automatic Pistol Documented in “Axis Pistols” by Jan Still - Serial no. 286345, 7.65 mm cal., 3 3/8 inch round bbl., blue finish, plastic grips. This early production high polish blue Sauer 38H is the exact pistol photographed on page 51 of the book “Axis Pistols” by Jan C. Still. The lot is also accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from noted author Jan C. Still’s family verifying it was in his personal collection. Blade front and notch rear sights, with the two-line Sauer address and caliber marking on the left side of the slide, “PATENT” on the right, an “eagle/37 German military acceptance proof on the left of the trigger guard, “eagle/N” proof on the right of the frame, slide and muzzle end of the barrel, and fitted with a set of checkered grip panels with the “SuS” logo on the left panel.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% original blue finish with some light edge wear, thinning on the rear grip strap, an area of finish loss on the right of the slide, freckling and some minor pitting. Grips are also very fine with some light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
