Engraved Perazzi 28 Gauge SCO/C Over/Under
Shotgun Three Barrel Set with Case - Serial no.
120632, 28 gauge, 29 1/2 inch vent rib bbl., blue/
coin finish, walnut stock. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single nickel bead sight with a gold “1” at the base, standard
Perazzi marking, 2001 dated Italian proofs, interchangeable Teague chokes .021/.027 (inch) installed, and 2 3/4 inch chambers
with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a coin finished sideplated boxlock action which displays broad leafy scroll over a
matted background which extends to the triggerguard, both tangs, and the toplever which has a gold inlaid “1”. The engraving is
signed “GRANETTI” to the right of the trigger for Italian Master Engraver Oscar Granetti. The gun features a single gold trigger and a
tang mounted manual safety/selector switch with gold inlaid “S”, “1”, and “2” indicators. The gun is mounted with a beautifully figured
and multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and a gold “1” on the Deeley release and a semi-pistol grip stock with horn grip cap, gold inscription oval inscribed “SMR”, and checkered bare butt with horn heel and toe plates. Included are two extra barrel set, one matching numbered 31 1/2 inch 28 gauge set with full/ full Teague chokes installed and a 29 1/2 inch .410 bore set numbered “120633” with a gold “1” on the rib and Teague chokes (none included). Also included is a Perazzi takedown case and seven extra choke tubes for 28 gauge. This gun is part of a three gun set with the following two lots. Barrel measurements for the extra 28 gauge set (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed and measured 13.9mm (.546 inches); minimum wall thickness .038/.039 inches. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed and measured 13.9mm (.546 inches); minimum wall thickness .041/.042 inches; 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/8 inch drop at heel; 15 7/8 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 4 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 98% plus original blue finish, 97% original coin finish, some minor oxidation under the toplever, minor handling evidence throughout and an area on the comb of significant handling marks, loss of finish on the trigger and toplever, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with light storage wear. The extra barrels are excellent.
