Factory Engraved and Gold Inlaid Luigi Franchi 20 Gauge Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 5883, 20 gauge, 26 3/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/gold finish, walnut stock. Blued Poldi steel barrels with a single steel bead sight on the matted solid rib, standard barrel markings, import mark under the forend, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The blued sidelock action displays attractive light scroll engraving with dot borders as well as “S.A. LUIGI FRANCHI BRESCIA” inlaid in gold on the left lockplate. The gun features double triggers, bushed
firing pins, and a tang mounted manual safety switch with gold inlaid “S”. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, including the Anson button release, and straight grip stock with checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 15.9mm (.626 inches) and measured .631/.634 inches; choke constriction .011/.032 inches; minimum wall thickness .014/.009 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 6 lbs.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% professionally reapplied blue finish with light handling evidence and scattered minor spotting. There is a chip at the toe and a chip at the left rear of the forend;
otherwise, the wood is very good with some light dings and scratches, and well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,500 - 5,000

Factory Engraved Arrieta 20 Gauge Self-Opening Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 33460, 20 gauge, 28 7/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Built with blued steel chopperlump barrels featuring a single brass bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib, light engraving at the breech, standard marking on the right tube, 1985 dated Spanish proofs on the flats, choke constrictions of .004/.014 inches, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a coin finished Holland & Holland type self-
opening sidelock action which displays extensive bouquet and scroll engraving and features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety. The triggerguard shows a gold inlaid monogram and fleur-de-lis. The gun is mounted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and an Anson button release and a straight grip stock with tear drop carved drop points, blank silver inscription oval, and a checkered bare butt. Stock measurements: 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 15 3/8 inch length of pull; cast-off;
weight 6 lbs. 1 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence, a few minor pressure marks in the wood, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,000

Factory Engraved Aguirre & Aranzabal 20 Gauge Hand Detachable Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 426693, 20 gauge, 25 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Built with blued steel chopperlump barrels featuring a single bead sight on the narrow matted solid rib which shows a gold “AYA” near the base, 1974 dated Spanish proofs, import mark under forend, choke constrictions of .008/.021 inches, and 2 3/4” chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are matted with a casehardened hand
detachable sidelock action, displaying floral and scroll engraving surrounding “AGUIRRE Y ARANZABAL” on the underside and featuring double triggers
(front trigger articulated), gold centerline cocking indicators, and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “S” indicator. The gun is fitted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and Anson button release and straight grip stock with teardrop carved drop points, blank silver inscription oval, and checkered bare butt. LOT 437 Factory Engraved August Francotte Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 88437, 12 gauge, 27 3/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with a single steel bead sight on the matted solid rib, bands of floral engraving at either breech, import mark under the forend, and 2 1/2 inch chambers with selective ejectors. The coin finished hand detachable sidelock action displays extensive floral scroll engraving which extends to the toplever, trigger guard, and both tangs. The gun features double triggers (front is articulated) and a tang mounted manual safety switch.

CONDITION: Very fine as professionally restored, retaining 99% blue and coin finishes, some very minor subsurface pitting at the right breech, minimal minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the wood. Blued steel barrels with a single red bead sight on the matted solid rib, import mark under forend, 1965 dated Italian proofs, chokes marked modified/full, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The casehardened sidelock action displays light scroll engraving with maker’s name on both lockplates and the underside and a gold inlaid pigeon on the toplever. The gun features
double triggers, bushed firing pins, and a manual tang mounted safety. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend and straight grip stock with
ebony inlaid teardrop carved flats and a red rubber recoil pad. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 98% original blue finish which has taken on a plum hue, 95% original case colors, light handling evidence, repaired teardrop inlays, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend.
