Beautiful Factory Master Claudio Tomasoni Signed and
Greek Mythology Engraved Ivo Fabbri Sidelock Over/Under Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 3281, 12 gauge, 29 inch vent rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Ivo Fabbri began his career
in firearms along side one of the most well-known names in the business, Daniele Perazzi. After they split, Perazzi went on to create arguably the world’s finest sporting guns, and Fabbri perused his dream to build the finest guns in the world, with this gun being
the embodiment of that goal. Fabbri only builds some 30 guns a year, each is hand crafted from the ground up by some of Italy’s finest craftsmen, making guns such as these not all that commonly available for public sale . The gun is built with blued barrels with a single nickel bead sight on the file cut matted vent rib, “IVO FABBRI
- BRESCIA-” marked on the left of the upper barrel and “BOEHLER SUPER BLITZ STEEL” on the right inlaid in gold, a band of engraving at the breech, import mark under the forend, 2 3/4 inch chambers with and 1997 dated Italian proofs. The gorgeous brush bright finished sidelock action display absolutely fantastic engraving which brings to mind many classic works of art depicting Greek Mythology. The engraving consists of three scenes centering around the Greek Goddess Diana on the sideplates and underside. The left lock depicts Diana and two maidens relaxing in a picturesque field while one
of her dogs stands on watch. The right lock depicts Diana with
two lounging maidens in a field with a temple in the background while two of her dogs stand on watch of the rolling hills in the background. The action otherwise is engraved intertwined scroll and blossoms surrounding a lone Diana and one of her dogs with “IVO FABBRI” on the left and “BRESCIA” The pieces are signed “Tomasoni” on the locks and “inc. C. Tomasoni.” on the triggerplate for renowned Italian Master Engraver Claudio Tomasoni. The gun features a single non-selective trigger and a tang mounted manual safety switch.
The gun is mounted with a beautiful highly figured and multi-
point checkered forend with bright finished and engraved fittings including the push button release and a pistol grip stock with a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. Includes leather covered takedown case. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed at 18.5mm (.728 inches) and measured .732/.730 inches; choke constriction .024/.040 minimum wall thickness .033/.034 inches; 1 1/8 inch drop at comb; 1 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 13/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 11 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 95% original blue finish
and 99% plus original coin finish with light handling marks on the barrels, crisp engraving, and crisp stock checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very good. This is your opportunity add a beautiful example of a true master’s work!
