grips. The included factory letter lists
this revolver in .38 caliber with a 2 inch
barrel, parkerized finish, and grips not listed when shipped to U.S. Government San Francisco port of embarkation in Oakland, California on April 16, 1943
in a shipment of 500. Fitted with half moon front and frame notch rear sights and is marked with an ordnance bomb on the left side of the top strap at the rear.
The inside of the frame under the cylinder is hand marked “B18544-43145-113069/BROBST”.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% plus original parkerized finish with light holster type wear concentrated on the leading edges, a cylinder drag
line and front face flash marks. Grips are excellent
with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1918,
and falling within the 217,801 to 222,800 serial range listed
on page 519 of “U.S. Military Automatic Pistols 1894-1920” by
Meadows as a shipment of 5,000 pistols sent to the ordnance
department of Greenville Piers in Jersey City, New Jersey, on
January 3, 1918, to be sent overseas for issuance to the American Expeditionary
Force. Features fixed oval blade front and notch rear sights, blued barrel with “P” and
“H” marked on top and “5” on the bottom, long smooth trigger, checkered slide release
and thumb safety, short grip safety, wide checkered hammer, and a smooth straight
mainspring housing with a lanyard loop on the base. The slide bears the two-line, two-
block patent dates and address on the left with the uncircled “Rampant Colt” behind
the slide serrations, along with model and U.S. Army nomenclature on the right and “H”
marked at the top of the hammer recess. The left side of the frame has a U.S. property
marking and “JMG” inspection mark, with serial number on the right. Fitted with a pair
of diamond pattern checkered walnut grips and an “R” marked two-tone magazine with
pinned base.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 70% plus original blue finish with scattered minor spotting and brown patina, thinning on
the grip straps with light freckling, light holster pattern edge wear, and light handling marks. The grips are very fine with minor compression wear, a few minor scuffs, the upper right screw bushing stuck to the grip, and otherwise well defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Smith & Wesson Model 1917 Army Double Action Revolver with Factory Letter - Serial no.
125681, 45 ACP cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. The accompanying
factory letter states that the revolver was on January 16, 1918 and delivered to U.S. Government, Eastern States Terminal,
Springfield, Massachusetts, with a 5 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, butt swivel, and smooth walnut grips. “UNITED STATES PROPERTY”
marked on the underside of the barrel, U.S. Ordnance bomb on left side of frame, eagle proofs on barrel, inside and left side of frame, and rear of cylinder, and matching
serial numbers on the butt, both grip panels, cylinder, and barrel.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% plus original blue finish with absent patches of
finish visible on a couple cylinder chambers, slight thinning on grip straps, and cylinder
drag line. 98% original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are very
fine with some minor dings mostly contained to the bottoms. Mechanically excellent.

Excellent Documented World War II, 1943 Raritan Arsenal Shipped, U.S. Colt Official Police Double Action Revolver with Factory Letter
and Original Box - Serial no. 714451, 38 Special cal., 4 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, walnut grips. The included factory letter confirms this revolver’s current configuration as chambered for “.38/c” with a 4 inch barrel, blue finish, and stocks not listed, and lists its inclusion in a shipment of 2,007 to the transportation officer of Raritan Arsenal in Nixon, New Jersey, on February
17, 1943. Features round blade front and frame notch rear sights. The barrel is marked on the left with “COLT OFFICIAL/POLICE 38” and the two-line Colt address on top. The trigger guard is marked with “VP” and “p” proofs on the left side, with a double struck “ordnance bomb” proof is visible on the left upper side of the frame. Fitted with a set of correct un-numbered checkered walnut grips with silver Colt medallions. Also includes the original Colt box with faint matching serial number and a cleaning rod.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with limited minor handing evidence and a faint cylinder drag line. Grips are also excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very fine with limited edge wear and staining.
