Scarce Parker Brothers 8 Gauge Grade 2 Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun - Serial no. 31604, 8 gauge, 31 7/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/ casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1883, this gun started life in the current configuration with the exception of the shortened barrels (from 34” to 31 7/8”) according to “Parker Gun Identification & Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. In its original configuration it was one of just 21 total guns built according to the chart on page 279 of “The Parker
Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote. Built
with blued Damascus steel barrels featuring a single bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib
which is marked “PARKER BROS MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL.”, light engraving at the breech, and chambers with a single extractor. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened action which
displays the standard Grade 2 engraving with scroll and game bird scenes and features double triggers and rebounding hammers. The gun is fitted with a lightly figured and multi-point checkered
splinter forend and a straight grip stock with attractive figure and a leather wrapped recoil pad. Stock
measurements: 2 1/16 inch drop at comb; 2 7/8 inch drop at heel; 14 1/8 inch length of pull; weight 13 lbs. 15 oz. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refinished, retaining 99% blue and casehardened finishes, minor handling evidence, some minor spotting, small cracks at the rear of the lockplates, and lightly worn recoil pad. The barrels are slightly off face; otherwise, mechanically excellent. Estimate: 6,000 - 9,000

Rare Parker Brothers 8 Gauge P Grade Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun -
Serial no. 84062, 8 gauge, 36 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1896, this gun is recorded as a T2 (Twist Grade 2) Hammerless (clearly a recording error) gun in 8 gauge with a capped pistol grip stock and 36” barrels according to “Parker Gun Identification & Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. The watertable is marked with a “P” which matches the engraving style, but also goes against the factory record as a T2. This makes
this gun one of less than 31 built in this configuration if one
considers it a P Grade gun, and one of only 16 if one considers it to be a T2, according to “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single bead on the matted concave solid rib which is marked “PARKER BROS MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. TWIST.”, light engraving
at the breech, and chambers with a single extractor. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened action which displays the standard P Grade border engraving and features double triggers and rebounding hammers.
The gun is fitted with a lightly figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend and a capped pistol grip stock with a dog’s head hard rubber
buttplate. Stock measurements: 2 1/8 inch drop at comb; 3 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 5/16 inch length of pull; weight 13 lbs. 13 oz. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refinished, retaining 99% blue and casehardened finishes, minor handling evidence, and some minor spotting. the wood has small cracks at the rear of each lockplate and crisp checkering. LOT 1512 Factory Game Scene Engraved Baltimore Arms Co. Model 1902 Grade D Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 1787, 12 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., brown/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured circa 1902, this gun was built with browned Damascus steel barrels featuring a single brass bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, wedges of engraving at either breech, choke constrictions of .016/.022 inches, and chambers measured at 2 3/4 inches with a single extractor. The barrels are mated to a casehardened boxlock action which displays scooped fences and scroll engraving surrounding “BALTIMORE ARMS CO.” on either side and a trio of game scenes depicting a pair of birdy setters on the left, a pair of birdy dogs on the right, and quail on the underside. The gun features double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is mounted with a nicely figured and fancy checkered forend with engraved fittings and ebony tip inlay as well as a pistol grip stock with a gold inscription oval inset into the grip and a factory hard rubber buttplate. Stock measurements: 1 11/16 inch drop at comb; 2 9/16 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 3 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 98% original browned finish with strong Damascus patterns, 20% original case colors in the protected areas and light handling evidence. There is some chipping at the top edges of the forend, otherwise; the wood is very fine with minor marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,500
