Early Production Remington Arms U.M.C. Over/Under Derringer with Factory Box - Serial no. 46, 41 RF cal., 3 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured c. 1911, this is a fine example of one of only 3,000 of the initial
Remington-U.M.C. production over/under derringers before the introduction of the “L” serial number prefix, which was found on the remainder of the
production. The single-line Remington Arms-U.M.C. address is marked on the barrel rib and the matching serial number is on the bottom of the barrel and the left of the grip frame. It is fitted with blade and notch sights, as well as a
pair of checkered hard rubber grips. Includes a correctly labeled factory box. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original blue finish with some mild wear on edges and high spots showing a smooth grey patina. The grips
are excellent with a few scattered light handling marks and otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is good with significant wear to
the exterior and the label fine. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750

Chicago Firearms Co. Protector Palm Pistol - Serial no. 6235, 32 XSRF cal.,
1 3/4 inch round bbl., nickel finish,
hard rubber grips. Manufactured
in the 1890s, with the typical floral
pattern accents on the barrel and
frame, this example has the attractive nickel finish. Produced without sights, with the model and patent markings
on the frame and the Chicago Firearms address on the side plate. The frame,
side plate and turret cylinder are numbered to match. It is fitted with checkered hard rubber panels on the
side plate and frame and a checkered hard rubber palm pad.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 95% plus of the
original nickel finish with some scattered light handling marks. The hard rubber components are exceptionally fine showing a slightly age-faded chocolate tone with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The side plate secures but does not properly stop in “locked” position and the action needs work.

 Very Fine Etched Manufacture Francaise d’Armes et Cycles de St. Etienne Gaulois No. 2 Palm Pistol - Serial no. 11538, 8 mm cal., 2 1/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. “Manufrance” manufactured these distinctive “squeezer” pistols c. 1893-1912. These pistols were initially called the Mitrailleuse (from “Grapeshot”)
from 1893 to approximately 1895 before being re-branded as the Le Gaulois (native people
of France as in the Gauls). This Gaulois
has etched floral patterns on the
sides, the manufacturer mark on the
rear of the frame at the top, “Cal.” and “8m/m” at the front, the Manufrance logo along with “GAULOIS” on the
barrel, and “No. 2” on the loading
gate. The left side of the action has the three position selector switch. The serial number is on the bottom of the barrel (sideplate could not be removed). The trigger mechanism has a checkered hard rubber pad with “R/122” marked on the left. The barrel has a round bead front sight, and the dust cover and front of the frame are serrated.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains
90% of the original blue finish and 80% of the vibrant case colors on the plunger/trigger mechanism with a few scattered patches of thinning showing mostly a grey or plum brown patina and some light spotting in the side panel groove. The grip pad is fine with a minor chip absent from the top and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Attractive Factory Engraved Remington-Rider Magazine Pistol - NSN, 32 XSRF cal., 3 1/8
inch part octagon bbl., nickel finish, rosewood grips. Manufactured c. 1871-1888, with a total production of around only 15,000. This example shows factory floral
scroll and border engraving on about 75% of the surfaces. The top flat of the barrel is marked with the standard two-line Remington
address and Rider’s patent marking. It is fitted with a German silver blade front sight and peep sight pierced through the
breech block, and well as a pair of smooth rosewood grips. Includes a modern custom leather wrapped case with
interior fitted for the pistol.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original
nickel finish with some light wear on the magazine tube cap and the trigger showing some attractively aged brass and grey patina respectively. The grips are also
very good with some scattered light handling marks and about half of the original varnish. Mechanically excellent.
The modern custom case is very fine with minimal wear. Estimate: 1,100 - 1,600

C.S. Shattuck Arms Co. Unique Four Shot Squeeze- Fire Palm Pistol Serial Number 2 - Serial no. 2,
32 RF cal., 1 1/2 inch cluster bbl., nickel finish, metal grips. This four shot pistol was manufactured
on contract and sold by C.S. Shattuck Arms Co. (misspelled “SHATUCK” on the side of the gun by
contractor) of Hatfield, Massachusetts. An example is photographed in Winant’s book “Firearms Curiosa”
and on pg. 82 it states, “There are four short barrels bored in a solid steel block which drops for loading
when a vertical catch is released. The gun is gripped in
the hand and fired by squeezing a sliding part which operates a
rotating firing pin.”
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retaining 95% original nickel finish
with some flaking on the top and back of the side plates revealing an attractive dark grey patina, some small file marks on the right side of the backstrap, and light pitting on the trigger. Mechanically functions,
but mechanism return spring does not rebound. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750
