Excellent U.S. Springfield Armory Type 2 National Match M1 Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle - Serial no. 5484657, 30-06 Springfield cal., 24 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. Receiver from January 1955 production, subsequently arsenal upgraded to Type 2 National Match specifications. These rifles were modified by Springfield Armory for competition in the National Matches, and were offered for sale through the Director of Civilian Marksmanship (DCM). Reference pages 553-558 of Bruce Canfield’s “The M1 Garand Rifle” for more details on Type 2 National Match rifles. Features winged blade front sight marked “N M/062”, “N M/2A” marked adjustable peep rear sight assembly with “595” marked peep hood, “N M” marked wide-base gas cylinder, “6528287-
SA/Y01” marked bolt, along with a “NM” and “7790772-RA” marked operating rod. The barrel is marked “NM” on the left, dated “1 63” and marked “SA”, “T”, and “PM”. The trigger housing is marked “D28290-SA,” with a “SA D5546008” hammer and “F” marked safety. Fitted with a smooth oiled American walnut stock with “DoD” cartouche on the left and “circle P” firing proof on the grip, glass bedded to the trigger housing and receiver with the front handguard also glass bedded to the upper band. With matching “4657” serial numbers on the trigger housing floor plate and stock channel in white paint. Includes an unmarked model 1907 leather sling. CONDITION: Excellent as arsenal configured to Type 2 National Match specifications, retaining 97% parkerized finish with minor edge wear, scuffs, and dried Cosmoline. Stock is also excellent with attractive raised grain, minor handling evidence, and some white paint splatter on the butt. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,000
LOT 3325 World War II U.S. Inland M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine - Serial no. 85566, 30 Carbine cal., 18 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. This correct five-digit serial numbered example was manufactured in late 1942 as part of the first main-run production block of M1 Carbines from GM’s Inland Division in the 101-999,000 range, with an Inland barrel dated “11-42”, “IS” marked blade front and “S” two-leaf peep rear sights, unmarked Type I barrel band, “IO” two-rivet handguard, high-wood stock with a flaming bomb and crossed cannons stamps along with “LA” in the sling cutout, “I” shaped oiler cut on the right side of the buttstock, machined Inland trigger guard, unmarked serrated pushbutton safety, “W-I” magazine catch, “HI” hammer, “RI” sear, “PI” operating rod, “IO” flat-top bolt, and fitted with a tan canvas sling, oiler and “I.I.” magazine. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% original parkerized finish, 85% original blue finish on the bolt, with scattered light freckling and a few small patches of light surface corrosion. Magazine retains 90% original blue finish. Stock is also very fine, with scattered light scratches and dents, a few scuffs at the tip of the forend, and defined edges. Mechanically excellent. Very Fine U.S. Springfield Model 1903 N.R.A. Sales Bolt Action Rifle - Serial no. 617990, 30-06 cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1915, this rifle bears the “bomb/
N.R.A.” mark on the front of the triggerguard assembly denoting it as having been released from military stores for private sale through the National Rifle Association for use in competition and target shooting. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, with an “11-15” dated Springfield barrel, and a small brass shade tube added to the rear sight. The receiver has the standard sans-serif markings on the receiver ring, with “81”
on the underside of the rear locking lug and the aforementioned NRA mark on the triggerguard. The straight wrist stock has a single reinforcing bolt, with a brown leather sling, “J.S.A.” on the left, “P” behind
the triggerguard, and a checkered steel buttplate. Included with the lot is a P.J. O’Hare rear sight adjustment tool (not compatible with the unique installed shade tube). CONDITION: Very fine, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, minor spotting, and light handling marks. The stock is fine, with some minor chipping visible around the buttplate and tang, and mild scratches and dings overall. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,500

World War II U.S. Remington Model 11 Semi-Automatic Riot Shotgun - Serial no. 492508, 12 gauge, 20 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1943, this Remington Model 11 Riot Shotgun features a single bead sight, 2 3/4 inch chamber, cylinder choke, “KMM” (May 1943) date code on left of chamber, and “U.S.” ahead of flaming bomb proofs on the barrel and receiver, and the receiver is also correctly marked “MILITARY FINISH” on the left side with all other markings being standard. Matching serial number marked on the barrel beneath the forend. Fitted with a smooth forearm and pistol grip stock with a Remington Bakelite serrated buttplate. Length of pull is 14 inches. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 95% plus original blue finish with some light scratches and a few patches of minor freckling. Wood is also very fine with attractive grains
and rich re-oiled finish. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750

Exceptional World War I U.S. Winchester Model 1917 Bolt Action Rifle - Serial no. 307426, 30-06 Springfield cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. The U.S. Model 1917 was the service rifle most used by infantrymen of the American Expeditionary Force (AEF) throughout World War I, and continued to see use up through World War II and beyond as a surplus arm, making original unaltered examples with a high level of retained original finish, such as this example, a rarity today. Features a “W/flaming bomb/6-18” marked barrel, winged fixed blade front and elevation adjustable ladder peep rear sights, standard receiver markings, “flaming bomb” proof on left receiver wall, along with a “flaming bomb” and “B” stamped bolt with “W” marked cocking piece. Fitted with a smooth oiled walnut semi-pistol grip stock with “eagle head/539” proof behind the triggerguard, “W/96” on the nose, and steel trapdoor buttplate. Includes a “J.C.Co./WTG” marked M1907 leather sling. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retaining 85% plus original factory blue finish with mild freckling, minor edge wear, cycling wear on the bolt, and limited spotting. The refinished stock is fine with a hairline crack at the bolt recess, attractive raised grain, along with crisp gasping groves and proof. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500
