Swedish Contract Walther Model HP
Commercial Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial
no. H1214, 9 mm cal., 4 7/8 inch round bbl., blue
finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in the early 1940s,
the “H” prefix is strongly associated with pistols destined
for export to Sweden, which had planned to issue the
handgun as the m/39 to their armed forces. The Swedes
had intended to replace their current pistols with the Walther;
however, World War II and their neutral status meant they couldn’t purchase sufficient pistols or spare parts from Germany, which led to the adoption of the m/40 Lahti pistol instead. “Crown/N” commercial proofs marked on the frame and slide. Matching serial numbers on the frame, slide, barrel and locking block, and the magazine numbered “1209”. The pistol has a rectangular rear firing pin and is fitted with a set of checkered “Cewe” and “480” marked grips.
CONDITION: Excellent, with 95% plus original blue finish, showing minor edge
wear and handling marks overall. The grips show some minor dings and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
Estimate: 2,500 - 3,750
