gun was built with blued steel
barrels featuring a single brass
bead sight on the matted solid rib
“CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MFG. CO./NB. CT. USA”
gold inlaid on the right of the upper tube and
“A. GALAZAN “ inlaid on the left, and 2 3/4 inch
chambers with automatic ejectors.
The barrels are mated with an
exceptionally well engraved coin
pinless and screwless sidelock
action displaying extremely
intricate bouquet and scroll
engraving with “GALAZAN” on
both locks. The magnificent
engraving was executed by the
hand of Italian Master Engraver
Armando Piardi of the engraving
firm Creative Art who has
signed his work on the trigger plate
to the right of the trigger. The gun features a single non-selective trigger, and a tang mounted manual safety with a gold inlaid “S” safety indicator. The gun is mounted with a beautiful highly figured and multi-point checkered forend with coin engraved Anson button release and Boss style extended forend shoe as well as a straight grip stock with a checkered bare butt. Included is a wood and leather takedown case with canvas cover and a pair of nickel snap caps. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .622/.624 inches; choke constriction .036/.036 inches; minimum wall thickness .038/.036 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 5/16 inch drop at heel; 14 5/8 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 12 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent retaining 99% plus original blue and coin finishes with limited handling marks and crisp engraving. Wood is very fine with some scattered dings and scratches and a hairline age crack off the upper tang. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine.
