Factory Deep Relief Game Scene Engraved E. Jopp Vorm Emil Kerner & Sohn Double Rifle - Serial no. 18714, 9.3x74R cal., 24 3/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with a ramped beaded blade front and two leaf (rear leaf absent) rear sight on the matted solid rib which is marked “E. JOPP, VORM. EMIL KERNER & SOHN, SUHL” (E. Jopp formerly Emil Kerner & Son), 2 3/8 inch wedges of oak leaf engraving at either breech, 1927 dated German proofs, and chambers with a single extractor. The coin finished
sideclipped boxlock action displays attractive deep oak leaf engraving surrounding a trio of running wild boars on the right and a red stag with two hinds
   in a forested scene on the left. The rifle features bushed firing pins, cocking indicators, dual single set triggers, and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Nicely figured, multi- point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and a horn tip, and pistol grip stock with ebony drop point inlays, engraved steel grip cap, rear sling swivel, shadowline
cheekpiece, and rubber recoil pad. Length of pull 14 1/8 inches. Weight 8 lbs. 5 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 97% plus original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence, some scattered minor spotting on the barrels, some dried grease on the action. The wood is very good showing speckles of a yellow substance on the stock, a few dings and scratches, recoil pad hardened and deteriorating, and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Westley Richards Magazine Bolt Action Rifle in .425 Magnum Express - Serial no. L.T.41800, 425 Magnum Express cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Built on a Mauser Model 98 pattern action. The barrel is fitted with a beaded blade front and five leaf, one standing four folding, rear sight marked from 100 to 500 yards with platinum inlaid centerlines. The top of the barrel is marked “WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO. LONDON” ahead of the rear sight and a triangle on top of the chamber. The top of the receiver ring is stippled with the serial number above “WESTLEY RICHARDS/.425 MAGNUM/EXPRESS” on the left side. The action is fitted with a bent down bolt handle with hard rubber knob. Mounted in a straight grain multipoint checkered walnut pistol grip stock with horn forend tip and grip cap, assembly number marked
behind the grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, silver initial escutcheon, and orange recoil pad. CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 80% plus original blue finish with some handling marks, some spotting/pitting, a crack in the bolt knob, high edge wear, a hairline crack coming off the triggerguard, and slight softened checkering. Factory Engraved Greifelt & Co. Boxlock Ejector Double Rifle with Zeiss Scope - Serial no. 37606, 8x57 cal., 23 3/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued Krupp steel barrels with a ramped wide blade front sight, three notch rear sight, and German claw mounts holding a Zeiss Diavari Z 1.25-4x24mm MC scope on the matted solid rib which is marked “LEIM & HONSTETTER BERLIN”. The barrels each have a small wedge of scroll engraving at the breech, GREIFELT & CO. SUHL marked on the left barrel, and 1939 dated German proofs on the flats. The casehardened sideclipped boxlock action displays extensive floral scroll
engraving with the Greifelt logo on the underside. The rifle features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and tang mounted manual safety switch with gold
“S”. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, Deeley latch release, and horn tip inlay, and pistol grip stock with shadowline cheekpiece and horn drop point inlays, grip cap, and buttplate. Includes a Pelican case, pair of snap caps. Length of pull 14 1/4 inches. Weight 9 lbs. with scope. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 99% professionally reapplied blue finish, attractive silver patina on the case colors with traces beneath the triggerguard, minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the wood. The scope optics are sharp. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,750 - 6,500
LOT 3474 Griffin & Howe Model 1903 Bolt Action Rifle in .30-06 - Serial no. 875, 30-06 cal., 22 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Built by the iconic firm of Griffin & Howe in New York. The barrel is fitted with a ramped hooded beaded blade, central sling eye, and rear quarter rib with three folding leaves (100, 200, and 300 yards respectively), and marked “No 875 GRIFFIN & HOWE, INC. NEW YORK”. The front ring on the action has matting on top with a light line border, Griffin & Howe scope mount, and receiver peep sight. Mounted in a nicely figured multipoint checkered walnut pistol grip stock with horn forend, blued grip cap, shadowline cheek piece, blank silver initial escutcheon, and hair on hide recoil pad. Includes a brown leather sling. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 85% faded original blue finish, some handling marks, light spotting on the side of the quarter rib, some oil staining, and light pitting on the bolt. Wood is very good as reoiled with some dings and scratches, slightly softened checkering, and a hairline crack off the peep sight. Mechanically excellent.
