of Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 29 .44 Magnum Double Action Revolvers with Cases
and Factory Letters -A) Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 29 .44 Magnum Revolver - Serial
no. S174289, 44 Magnum cal., 6 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, goncalo alves grips. The
included factory letter lists this revolver as part of a consecutive set with gun “B” of this
lot and fitted with a 6 1/2 inch barrel, red ramp front sight, white outline rear sight, target
hammer and trigger, blue finish, and Goncalo Alves target grips when shipped to Western Hoegee Co. in Los Angeles, California on February 7, 1958. The
letter states that this consecutive pair was an unusual one because this revolver is a four screw model and its mate (gun “B”) is a five screw model. Matching serial numbers are marked on the butt and inside the frame. Includes a S&W monogram display case and cleaning tools.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks, a light cylinder drag line, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine.
B) Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 29 .44 Magnum Revolver - Serial no. S174290, 44 Magnum cal., 6 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, goncalo alves grips.
