Exceptional Pre-Ban Fabrique Nationale G Series FAL Semi-Automatic Rifle with Box - Serial no. G1456, 7.62x51mm NATO (308) cal., 20 1/2 inch round bbl., black finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale (FN), this rifle is one of a limited number imported by Browning Arms in the early 1970s. Originally approved by the U.S. BATFE for importation, the Bureau shortly thereafter reversed the decision, determining that the imported commercial rifles were too close to FN’s selective-fire capable military contract FALs in configuration. Further imports were cut off, and those already through customs were given a pass and added to the BATFE C&R List (see page 23). Features standard winged post front and range adjustable peep rear sights, long flash hider with bayonet lug, and adjustable gas port with grenade launching setting. The left side of the upper receiver is marked “F.A.L. cal. 7,62”, and the right side bears the one-line Fabrique Nationale address. The trigger housing has the “S/R/A” selector markings with locked out “A” spot. Fitted with a smooth walnut forearm, smooth pistol grip, and walnut stock with ribbed metal buttplate. Matching “1456” serial numbers marked on the trigger housing, bolt carrier, and bolt. With shipping box, extra magazine, and leather sling. CONDITION: Excellent plus, retaining original 99% plus original black finish with limited handling evidence and attractive grain in the oiled walnut furniture. Mechanically excellent. Box is fine. Estimate: 9,000 - 14,000
