Excellent Cased Smith & Wesson .32
Safety Hammerless 2nd Model Revolver
with Rare 6 Inch Barrel and Factory Letter
- Serial no. 140423, 32 S&W cal., 6 inch solid rib bbl.,
nickel finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured from
1902-1909 with this outstanding example having
a factory documented rare 6 inch barrel. Standard
barrel lengths for this model were 3 inches and 3 1/2
inches. The included factory letter (copy) states the
revolver was shipped on January 26, 1906 and delivered to
Montgomery Wards Co. of Chicago, Illinois, with a 6 inch barrel, nickel
finish, and checkered black hard rubber grips. Matching serial numbers
appear on the butt, right grip panel, cylinder, barrel, and barrel latch. The period pebble faux
leather bound case is fitted to the revolver and contains an empty cartridge block.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus original nickel finish, 95% original case
colors on the trigger, minimal handling marks, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically
excellent. The case is very fine. This rare 6 inch barrel Smith & Wesson .32 Safety Hammerless
2nd Model revolver will be hard to improve upon.

Excellent Factory Engraved
Hopkins & Allen Safety Police
Double Action Revolver with Pearl
Grips - Serial no. E2191, 38 S&W cal.,
3 1/4 inch solid rib bbl., nickel/blue finish,
pearl grips. Manufactured c. 1911-1915, these
Safety Police revolver are often cited as one of the
finest quality top break revolvers of their time, as
well as Hopkins & Allen producing some of the finest
nickel plating of the period, which is evident on this
exceptional example. The revolver has the standard
Hopkins & Allen, 85% coverage, factory floral scroll engraving, which shows many similarities
to English style scrollwork of the time. The top of the barrel rib has the two-line address and
the top strap is marked “SAFETY POLICE”. The serial number is marked on the front grip strap
with the partial matching number on the rear face of the cylinder. It is fitted with blade and
notch sights and a pair of smooth pearl grips with “H&A” marked medallions.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original nickel finish, 85% plus of the blue finish on the
triggerguard, and 90% of the vibrant original case colors on the hammer with some slight frosting on the barrel
along with a few scattered flakes. The grips are very fine with a small chip at the top of the right panel and
otherwise only the slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Rare Blue Finished Factory Engraved Hopkins & Allen Safety Police Double Action Revolver with Pearl
Grips and Box - Serial no. E8003, 32 S&W cal., 3 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, pearl grips. Manufactured c. 1911-
1915, these Safety Police revolver are often cited as one of the finest quality top break revolvers of their time.
Hopkins & Allen was also known during the period for their very high quality nickel plating during the period,
leading to their blued guns being more rare and actually costing more than the nickel at the time. The revolver
has the standard Hopkins & Allen, 85% coverage, factory floral scroll engraving, which shows many similarities to
English style scrollwork of the time. The top of the barrel rib has the two-line address and the top strap is marked
“SAFETY POLICE”. The serial number is marked on the front grip strap with the partial matching number on
the rear face of the cylinder. It is fitted with blade and notch sights and a pair of smooth pearl grips with “H&A”
marked medallions. Includes a rare, correctly labeled factory box.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% of the original blue finish with some light edge/handling wear and crisp
engraving overall. The grips are very fine with a couple small edge chips. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine
with separation at the seams, mild handling/storage wear.

Smith & Wesson .32 Safety Hammerless 1st Model Double Action Revolver with Rare 2 Inch Bicycle
Gun Barrel, Pearl Grips, Box, and Factory Letter - Serial no. 85978, 32 S&W cal., 2 inch solid rib bbl., nickel
finish, pearl grips. Found in the 1-91417 and manufactured from 1888-1902 serial number range, this .32 Safety
Hammerless 1st Model “bicycle gun” has a rare special order 2 inch “bicycle” barrel with the correct two-line S&W
legend on the left side. The factory letter states the revolver was shipped on October 15, 1898 and delivered to A.
Lovell & Co. of New York City and confirms the nickel finish, 2 inch barrel, round blade front sight, fixed rear sight,
and mother of pearl round butt grips with silver S&W medallions. This was a single gun shipment. Matching serial
numbers appear on the butt, cylinder, and barrel. The tan pebbled paper cover S&W box has a very faint serial
number on the bottom which appears to be matching and a partial end label. The inside of the box lid has the
S&W directions label which is overstamped in red ink “N.B.-WE DO NOT GUARAN-/TEE OUR REVOLVERS WHEN/
USED WITH SMOKELESS OR/NITRO POWDERS.” Includes a bore brush.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus original nickel plating with a few light handling marks. The trigger
displays muted original case colors. Nearly all of the original blue finish remains on the trigger guard. The grips
are also excellent with a couple tiny stress lines at the S&W medallions and highly attractive fiery colors. The box
is very fine. A very desirable 2 inch barrel S&W .32 Safety Hammerless revolver in exceedingly high condition.
