Exceptional Documented Colt House
Model “Cloverleaf” Spur
Trigger Revolver with Rare
1 1/2 Inch Octagon Barrel as
Pictured in “The William M. Locke
Collection” - Serial no. 1647, 41 RF cal., 1 1/2
inch octagon bbl., nickel finish, walnut grips.
Manufactured in 1871, this is one of approximately
7,500 manufactured known as the “cloverleaf”
variation, due to the shape of their four-shot cylinder.
This specific revolver is a very rare variation, featuring
a 1 1/2 inch octagon barrel, and it is pictured and
briefly described on p. 184 of “The William M. Locke
Collection”. The left of the barrel is marked “COLT”. The
serial number is marked on the butt and matching
serial number hand marked inside both grip panels.
The revolver also in the “Cowboy Culture Book”.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains 90% plus of
the original nickel finish with a small patch of light flaking on the
sideplate and a few scattered light handling marks. There are
several patches of dark pitting on the sides of the hammer. The
re-finished grips are fine with only the slightest handling marks.
Mechanically excellent.

Colt Second
Model Single Shot
Derringer - Serial no. 1044,
41 RF cal., 2 1/2 inch irregular bbl., silver finish, walnut
grips. One of approximately 9,000 manufactured
from 1870 to 1890. It has the rare early production two-line
Hartford address (“ADDRESS COL. COLT/HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.”)
flanked by Maltese crosses and followed by “2” on the top
barrel flat. This barrel marking was on the first 200 pistols (“The
Deringer in America,” page 41). Flourishes of floral scroll engraving on the sides of the
frame and back strap, and matching serial numbers on the butt and barrel.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% original silver finish with light flacking. The slightly undersized
refinished grips are very good with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

LOT 109
Very Fine Factory Engraved
Colt New Line .32 Caliber
Revolver - Serial no. 4844, 32 RF cal., 2
1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, antique ivory grips.
Manufactured in 1874, this New Line pocket revolver has
75% coverage factory floral scroll engraving with a punch
dot background. The top of the barrel is marked with the standard two-line
address flanked by Maltese crosses. The matching serial number is on the left
of the grip frame, bottom of the barrel, and rear face of the cylinder (“844”). it
is fitted with blade and frame top groove sights and a pair of smooth antique
ivory grips.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% of the
original nickel finish with a few scattered
areas with specks of light flaking and crisp
engraving overall. The grips are very fine
with a few hairline age cracks and minimal
handling evidence. Mechanically excellent.

LOT 110
Excellent First Year Production Blue/
Casehardened Colt Acid Etched Panel
New Line .32 Spur Trigger Revolver - Serial no. 7576, 32
RF cal., 2 1/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish,
rosewood grips. Manufactured in 1874, this is an excellent
example of a first year production Colt New Line .32 revolver. The barrel has the standard
two-line Hartford address on top and the desirable acid etched panel marked “COLT
NEW 32” on the left side. The left side of the frame is marked “32CAL” just under the
cylinder. The barrel and both grip panels are numbered to the gun. Very desirable finish:
blued barrel and cylinder, and casehardened frame.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% plus bright original high polish blue finish and 90% vivid original
case colors with some spotting on the lower back strap. The grips are also excellent with a few
scratches and retaining nearly all original varnish. Mechanically excellent. A very attractive blued and
casehardened, acid etched Colt New Line .32 revolver.
