Excellent Documented Factory Engraved Colt Model 1908 Pocket Hammerless Semi-Automatic Pistol
with Pearl Grips, Factory Letter, and Box - Serial no. 96685, 380 ACP cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish,
pearl grips. Manufactured in 1927. The included factory letter confirms the pistol’s current configuration with 3
3/4 inch barrel chambered for .380 caliber, blue finish, pearl grips, and “Level 3” factory engravings when included
in a shipment of two sent to Murta Appleton and Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 24, 1927, as a
part of factory order No. 12066/3. Features fixed oval blade front and rounded notch rear sights, the two-line Colt
address and patent dates on the left of the slide with Rampant Colt behind the serrations, caliber nomenclature
on the right of the slide, and Colt factory Level 3 floral engravings covering roughly half of the slide and frame.
The frame itself bears the serial number on the left side, along with “W” and “triangle/VP” on that side of the
trigger guard and “91” on the right side of the trigger guard. Fitted with a pair of smooth pearl grips with silver
Colt medallions and a two-tone magazine marked “CAL. .380/COLT” on the baseplate. Includes an original Colt
box from another pistol.
CONDITION: Excellent as factory engraved, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with light slide retraction marks.
The grips are also excellent with some slight darkening around the fittings. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine.
