U.S. Property Marked
Colt Model 1908 Pocket
Hammerless Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial
no. 136327, 380 ACP cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish,
walnut grips. Manufactured in 1942. The slide has the two
line caliber marking on the left side and the two line Hartford
address/patent dates with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations on
the right side. The left side of the frame has the serial number with a faint
ordnance cartouche at the rear. The right side of the frame is marked “U.S.
PROPERTY”. The trigger guard is marked with the letter “X”, Colt triangle
factory proof and the number “13”. Standard low profile fixed sights, two-
tone marked replacement commercial magazine with Colt markings on the
base and checkered Colt medallion grips.
CONDITION: Excellent. The pistol retains 85% plus original blue finish
showing some high edge wear and a patch of gray on either
side of the slide. The grips are also excellent with overall
crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Box - Serial no. 1967354, 45 ACP
cal., 5 inch round bbl., parkerized
finish, walnut grips. Originally
produced by Remington-Rand in
1944, this pistol was reworked by the
U.S. Rock Island Arsenal and
subsequently upgraded to
National Match competition-
grade specifications by an
unknown U.S. arsenal (possibly
Rock Island Arsenal as well).
The left side of the Colt
replacement slide is marked
with “GOVERNMENT/MODEL”,
“COLT”, “AUTOMATIC/CALIBER
.45” and “rampant colt”, while
the right has the Colt address.
The left side of the frame bears a “FJA” (Col. Frank J. Atwood) inspection
mark and “P” proof, while the right side has the standard serial number,
U.S. property, and army/model markings, as well as “ordnance bomb”,
“NM”, and “FK RIA” (Frank Krack, Rock Island Arsenal c. 1941-1946).
Features serrated Patridge blade front sight and adjustable Elliason rear
sight, “7267718/N M” bushing, full blued barrel marked “.45 AUTO/NM
7790313” without a serial number on the chamber hood, and ‘punch-dot’
pattern stippling on the front grip strap. Equipped with a long serrated adjustable trigger, checkered narrow hammer, flat
serrated mainspring housing with lanyard loop, checkered walnut grips, and a full blued “MFR. 1M291” magazine. Includes
a DD Form 1149-2 shipping container tally with matching serial number to the pistol, addressed from the U.S. Rock Island
Arsenal, and a cardboard shipping box marked “SHOT FROM ARM REST”.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine as arsenal refurbished and upgraded to National Match specifications, retaining nearly 99%
parkerized finish with very limited handling marks. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The
box is fine with some staining and a compressed lid.

on May 6, 1918, as listed on page 385 of “Colt
.45 Service Pistols” (1991 publication) by Charles
Clawson, with two other U.S. Colt Model 1911
pistols in this auction, serial numbers 287056
and 288622 (see LOT 373 & LOT 1304), also from
the same shipment. Features fixed oval blade
front and notch rear sights, blued barrel with “P” and “H” marked on top, checkered slide stop, thumb
safety, magazine release, and wide spur hammer, short grip safety, smooth long trigger, and straight
mainspring housing with a lanyard loop on the base. The slide bears the two-line, two-block patent
date and manufacturer address on the left with “rampant colt” in the center (which was changed
from behind the slide serrations around serial number 278000), along with model and U.S. Army
nomenclature on the right side and “H” marked at the top of the hammer recess. The left side of the
frame bears the U.S. property marking and circled “JMG” (Lt. Col. J. M. Gilbert) monogram inspection
mark, with serial number on the right side. Fitted with a pair of diamond pattern checkered walnut
grips and unmarked two-tone magazine. Includes a “U.S.” embossed brown leather M1916 flap holster
marked “WARREN LEATHER/GOODS CO./1917/W.E.H.” on the rear, with leather belt loop attachment.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 80% plus original blue finish with some minor holster pattern edge
wear, thinning on top of the slide and on the grip straps revealing mostly brown patina, some minor
spotting/freckling, and minor handling marks. The right grip is very fine while the fine left grip has
some light compression wear in the otherwise defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster
is fine with supple leather.

Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic
Pistol with Factory Letter - Serial
no. 843063, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round
bbl., parkerized finish, plastic grips.
Manufactured in 1942. The included factory letter lists the pistol as
chambered for .45 caliber with a five inch barrel, blue finish (likely a factory
listing error), and type of grips not listed when sent in a shipment of 7,300
pistols to the transportation officer of the U.S. Springfield Armory (the letter also
notes “For: Commanding Officer”) in Springfield, Massachusetts, on November 10,
1942. Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights, blued barrel marked “G”, “COLT
45 AUTO” and with “P” on the recoil lug, the standard two-line, two-block address and
patent dates marking with “rampant colt” on the left of the slide with “P” on top and
matching “843/063” serial number under the firing pin stop, along with checkered
thumb safety, slide stop, wide spur hammer, short trigger, and arched mainspring
housing with lanyard loop at the bottom. The left of the frame bears a boxed “W.B.”
inspector mark, “P/VP” on the trigger guard, and “P” proof, while the right side bears the serial number,
model, U.S. property markings, and “crossed” cannons ordnance proof, along with “99” on the trigger
guard. Fitted with a pair of brown checkered plastic “Coltwood” grips and unmarked parkerized magazine.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% plus original parkerized finish
with some surface rust showing on the bottom of the mainspring
housing and lanyard loop, and scattered minor spotting/
brown patina. The grips are also excellent with crisp checkering.
Mechanically excellent.
